Peters was initially a farming community and then later on coal became a major industry that resulted in the development of Hackett.

In his later years, Hackett and his wife established the Singita Animal Sanctuary in California's San Fernando Valley.

Hackett was a friend of Robert Kennedy's, under whom he later served in the Justice Department.

A distinctive sound of early Genesis recordings was the double acoustic 12-string playing of Rutherford intertwined with that of Anthony Phillips, and, later, Steve Hackett ( additionally, keyboardist Tony Banks would occasionally throw his own 12-string into the mix ).

In 2007, Banks, Collins, and Rutherford went ahead with the Genesis reunion tour without Gabriel and Hackett, playing only a couple of " Lamb " songs during the show, the standard live numbers " In the Cage " and " Carpet Crawlers.

In addition to playing keyboards, Banks contributed ( along with Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford ) to Genesis ' 12-string acoustic passages in songs such as " The Musical Box ", " Entangled ", " The Cinema Show ", and the beginning part of " Supper's Ready ".

After the departure of Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett from Genesis, Banks was the first of the three remaining members of the group to release a solo album.

The third was for " Robbery, Assault and Battery " which depicted Collins as a bank robber who shoots an elderly man ( played by Mike Rutherford ) after holding him up and is then pursued by cops ( played by Banks, Hackett and Rutherford ), shooting Banks in the process.
