The band were introduced to Decca staff producer Tony Clarke who produced a recording session which saw Justin Hayward's " Fly Me High " & Mike Pinder's older-styled " Really Haven't Got the Time " ( Decca F12607 ) as the ' Mark Two ' Moodies first single released in May 1967.

Their new style, featuring the symphonic sounds of Pinder's Mellotron, was first introduced on Pinder's song " Love And Beauty " ( Decca F 12670 ) which was issued as a single c / w with Hayward's rocker " Leave This Man Alone " in September 1967.

Strings were added to the latter portion of the album version of Hayward's " Nights in White Satin " ( absent on the single hit version ) as was Pinder's " The Sun Set ".

Hayward's " Question " ( in a differing version ) was issued as a single hitting No. 2 in the UK ( only kept from top spot by The England World Cup football team's novelty record " Back Home ").

Pinder's " Melancholy Man " ( a No. 1 single in France ) stood out besides Hayward's " Question " on the 1970 album.

For their next two albums, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour ( 1971 ) – from which Hayward's " The Story in Your Eyes " was taken as a US Charting single ( No. 23 ), and Seventh Sojourn ( 1972 ) ( which reached No. 1 in the U. S .), the band returned to their signature orchestral sound which, while difficult to reproduce in concert, had become their trademark.

The first album release, Music From The Core was originally released on Matt Hayward's independent label One Movement in 1996 and the first single release, " Summer Sun " produced by John Prior, was frequently played by the DJ by Andy Glitre on Triple J and was followed up by single " Local MP " also achieved high rotation.

A group performance of Hayward's " Had to Fall in Love " & Lodge's " Slide Zone " on the UK " Kenny Everett Show " also depicted them as a four piece.

For example, John Lodge had gone from writing powerfully reflective mystical or humanitarian themed pieces such as " House of Four Doors ", " Candle of Life " and " One More Time To Live " to quirkier items such as " Here Comes The Weekend ", " Rock and Roll Over You " and " Love is On The Run ( From Me )", while Hayward's songs seemed less the deeper drama of numbers such as " The Actor ", " Dawning is the Day ", " You Can Never Go Home ", " The Land of Make Believe ", etc., to pleasant ( and more radio-friendly ) perennial far simpler songs about lost love and romance (" Your Wildest Dreams ", " No More Lies ", " I Know You're Out There Somewhere " etc .).

In the 1950s, Wise proved adept in several genres, from the science fiction of The Day the Earth Stood Still to the melodramatic So Big, to the 1954 boardroom drama Executive Suite, to the epic Helen of Troy based on Homer, to Susan Hayward's Oscar winner in I Want to Live !, for which he was nominated for Best Director.

The historical parallels in the succession of Richard II may not have been intended as political comment on the contemporary situation, with the weak Richard II analogous to Queen Elizabeth and an implicit argument in favour of her replacement by a monarch capable of creating a stable dynasty, but lawyers investigating John Hayward's historical work, The First Part of the Life and Raigne of King Henrie IV, a book partly derived from Shakespeare's Richard II, chose to make this connection.

Pinder's stirring lament " Lost in A Lost World " opened this last " Core Seven " outing, while his sympathetic ode to Timothy Leary " When You're A Free Man ", Thomas's romantic " For My Lady ", and Hayward's serene " New Horizons " all stood out.

In truth, a few songs sounded like solo efforts, while Lodge's " Survival ", Hayward's appropriate closing " The Day We Meet Again " and Pinder's lone final contribution and lead vocal, " One Step Into The Light " ( curiously as the band is depicted as doing so on the cover photo – where Pinder is perhaps significantly barely glimpsed at all and almost out of focus ) were all high points on the album.

It was recorded in Recco, Italy, at Hayward's suggestion, and was the band's first self-produced effort.

On " Strange Times " Ray Thomas appeared vocally with Hayward & Lodge on " Sooner or Later ( Walkin ' on Air )" and his own brief song " My Little Lovely ", plus provided a vocal snippet and backing vocals on Hayward's " English Sunset "; these would prove to be his recorded vocal swan song with the band.

Coke interviewed Hayward's licensing cleric, Samuel Harsnett, who complained that the dedication had been " foisted " on him by Devereux.

Froman herself supplied Hayward's singing voice.

In the script, Williamson uses the arrival of Hayward at the club as a device that gets these characters interacting as express their opinions on Hayward's poor early-season form and attitude, thus exploring several themes relevant to the culture of any sporting club.

The summer of 1993 saw the first recruits in a heavily funded bid for promotion that would characterise much of Hayward's reign, although by March 1994 their play-off chances were fading and Turner quit, making way for the tenureship of former England manager Graham Taylor.

Political ladies first, and statesmen afterwards, came to recognize the advantage of obtaining Hayward's good opinion.

Hayward's other television work includes a role as a judge in an episode, " Day of Reckoning " ( original air date 22 November 1962 ), of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

Other creditations include Manfred Mann's Earth Band's, Solar Fire ( 1973 ), Nightingales and Bombers ( 1975 ), The Roaring Silence ( 1976 ), Watch ( 1978 ); plus John Entwistle's, Mad Dog ( 1975 ); Justin Hayward's, Night Flight ( 1980 ); Chris Rea's, Whatever Happened to Benny Santini?

Thomas ' " Floating " and " Eternity Road " stood out, as did Hayward's " Gypsy " and a rare Pinder-Lodge collaboration " Out And In ".

Thomas's reflective " Our Guessing Game " and whimsical " Nice To Be Here " offset the deeper drama of Hayward's " You Can Never Go Home ", Lodge's " One More Time To Live " and Pinder's " My Song ".

Some early soundtrack albums were actually studio recreations of the songs, as in Capitol's album of Jane Froman, who provided Susan Hayward's singing voice in the film, performing songs from the Froman biopic With a Song in My Heart.

Hayward's son Reginald also served as mayor ( 1922 – 1924 ) and continued to expand the business.

They overcame Reading in the semi-finals and 3 – 0 victory over in the final at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, saw Jones become the manager who returned Wolves to the top level of English football for the first time since 1984 and the man who achieved the chairman Jack Hayward's ambition of Premier League footballer after 11 years, millions of pounds spent on players, and four previous managers.

After the fire, buildings were constructed on its foundations, and the outline of its structure, including the passageway from the auditorium to the street, can still be found in the street now known as Hayward's Place off Woodbridge Street.

Over the course of hours thousands of tired and proud skiers make their way past three blocks of cheering spectators lining Hayward's Main Street.

This Heat's first radio airplay came in early 1977 from legendary DJ John Peel, to whom they sent a demo tape recorded in the top room at Hayward's parents ' house in Camberwell as this was before they had moved into their ' Cold Storage ' studio, which they converted from a disused cold storage room which was part of an " Acme Studios " artists studios complex in Brixton.

A number of annual reports, including BDO Stoy Hayward's Fraudtrack 4 and CIFAS's ( The UK's fraud prevention service ) ' The Enemy Within ' have showed a rising level of major discrepancies and embellishments on CVs over previous years.

It also connects indirectly to Interstates 238 and 580 by way of Hayward's Foothill Boulevard, which carries Route 238 and flows directly into Route 92.

Avery and Anaheim Mighty Ducks broadcaster and former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Brian Hayward had a heated discussion in the Kings dressing room on April 7, 2006, over Hayward's on air comments during the April 4 Kings vs Ducks game, in which he accused Avery of avoiding a fight with Ducks ' forward Todd Fedoruk.

Hayward's work in live theatre included Noël Coward's " Conversation Piece ," and later, in the early 1960s, the national tour of Camelot, in which he appeared as King Arthur.

He expressed concern regarding his and Paul Hayward's ability to adapt back into society, an issue which he claims played a part in Hayward's death in 1992 from a heroin overdose.

They each provided well known songs during this period, in addition to the singles, Pinder's songs " A Simple Game " ( 1968 ) & " So Deep Within You " ( 1969 ) were successfully covered by The Four Tops, Pinder winning an Ivor Novello Award for " A Simple Game ", Elkie Brooks later covered Hayward's " Nights in White Satin ".

Reaction to the music and Hayward's song in particular, has generally been negative.

Hayward's first Test match for England came on tour with Lord Hawke's side against South Africa at Port Elizabeth in 1895 / 96, and in his second Test ( at Johannesburg ) he hit 122 as England recorded an innings victory.
