Hyacinth or Hyacinthus ( in Greek, Ὑάκινθος, Hyakinthos ) is a divine hero from Greek mythology.

Hyacinthus orientalis ( Common Hyacinth, Garden Hyacinth or Dutch Hyacinth ), is a perennial flowering plant, native to southwestern Asia, southern and central Turkey, northwestern Syria, Lebanon and northern Israel.

Francis Hyacinth ( Francesco Giacinto ; 14 September 1632 – 4 October 1638 ) was the Duke of Savoy from 1637 to 1638 under regency of his mother Marie Christine.

Hyacinth's senile father ( one of the actors who portrays him is George Webb ) is named and referred to as " Daddy " by Hyacinth.

Located at 3121 West Jackson Boulevard, it is, along with St. Hyacinth and Queen of All Saints, one of only three churches in Illinois designated by the Pope with the title of basilica.
