While acknowledging issues relating to the waiting times during board games, IGN's Peer Scheider praised this installment for relieving the problem slightly, specifically referring to the Mini Bowsers, who all take their turns at the same time in " Story " mode.

Similarly IGN's Peer Schneider criticized how limited the gameplay had become in the Game Boy Color and that defeating the opponent was relatively easier.

IGN's Schneider remarked that Goemon's Great Adventure would have benefitted from more role-playing game elements as exemplified in Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishijūrokubē no Karakuri Manji Gatame.

GameSpot reviewer Greg Kasavin agreed with many of IGN's criticisms, stating that " it's not that the game is easy so much that it's extremely short " and that Blue Shift " doesn't amount to much on its own terms ".

Sephiroth was listed at the top of IGN's " Final Fantasy VII: Top 10 Characters " list, with writer Dave Smith calling him the " heavyweight champion of Final Fantasy villains ," and praising his appearance and backstory.

Upon the release of the TurboGrafx-16 version Dragon's Curse to the Virtual Console in 2007, IGN's Lucas Thomas reviewed the game, comparing the opening sequence of the game to the opening sequence of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night ; he proceeded to add that the game parallels with games in the Castlevania series, calling the game " a straightforward and simple ' Metroidvania ' adventure " but with " several layers of unexpected depth ".

IGN's Craig Harris deeply appreciated the game's substantial single player, but was disappointed with the multiplayer mode, which he rated as substandard compared to Advance Wars.

Praise was given particularly to the simple yet comprehensive gameplay approach and variety of fun multiplayer modes ; IGN's Matt Casamassina went as far as to state, " If you even moderately enjoy wrestling but love multiplayer gaming, we don't see how you could go wrong with this game.

A lack of a multi-player mode was also a negative point in IGN's review.

IGN's Matt Casamassina praised the game's accessibility, commenting that " it serves as the perfect introductory game to any person hoping to explore the genre ".

IGN's Dan Adams noted that the game's presentation comprised a remarkably high proportion of the game, stating that " without the atmosphere, Doom 3 is a plain shooter that hearkens back to those of the ' 90s.

IGN's Levi Buchanan listed three of the game's bosses among the " Top 10 Mega Man Robot Masters ".

In IGN's " Final Fantasy Reader's Choice ", also written by Smith, Sephiroth was placed fourth, with comments focused on his activities in the game's plot.

The music in Katamari Damacy was widely hailed as imaginative and original ( winning both IGN's and GameSpot's " Soundtrack of the Year 2004 " awards ), and was considered one of the game's best features.

IGN's 9. 3 out of 10 review drew attention to the game's deft balancing of tricks and racing, asserting that a mastery of both is a requirement of success in the game.

IGN's Ryan Clements praised his growth, particularly commenting on his relationships with the other main characters.

A later editorial by IGN's Ryan Clements echoed this sentiment, appreciating that Squall and Rinoa's single kiss during the finale serves " one of the player's main rewards for hours of dedication ".

IGN's readers ranked it as the 40th best game of all time, while the staff placed it at 78th ; the staff believed that, " while handheld spin-offs are generally considered the low point for game franchises, Link's Awakening proves that they can offer just as rich a gameplay experience as their console counterparts ".

Also relating to Blood Omen 2, IGN's Aaron Boulding regarded his pompous nature as his " one personality trait ", and considered it comedic, while Matt Casamassina felt Kain was " cool ", but decried his visual design as " flamboyant to the point of being comical ".

IGN's US called Peach " all smiles and politeness ", however, they also labelled her as the one of the weirdest Mario character, citing her constant kidnappings.

IGN's Hilary Goldstein called the Xbox Live Arcade release " a mad dash of fun ", adding " there's almost no depth to Crazy Taxi, but that's just fine.

Cloud has also been included in some unorthodox lists ; these include IGN's " Worst Videogame Haircuts ", " Top Videogame Sword Masters " and ScrewAttack's " Top Ten Coolest Characters ".

IGN's Pokémon Chick called it a " perky pink Pokémon " and that while Jigglypuff's popularity was " mind-boggling ", once it evolves into Wigglytuff, it " has a tendency to sort of slip into the background ".

Because Metroid II has a single large level instead of multiple small ones, IGN's Tim Jones found the game a " refreshing departure from the norm ", which made him feel claustrophobic the further into the game he ventured.

IGN's Adam Cleveland awarded the game a perfect score, and noted that " throughout the color-enhanced version of Zelda DX, it can easily be inferred that Nintendo has reworked its magic to fit new standards ", by adding new content while keeping the original game intact.

Some reviewers were less enthusiastic about aspects of the character, with IGN's Perry commenting that his Soul Reaver 2 dialogue was haughty and " overwritten ", and Ivan Sulic considering his Blood Omen 2 incarnation " nothing more than an arrogant jerk with little to latch on to and care about " while expressing preference for Raziel.

" IGN's retrospective on the series referred to it as " still one of the best traditional Castlevania games ", and that it " holds its own " in terms of graphics, including a brighter color palette and Mode 7 graphics, but suffered from weak A. I.

It has also been featured in IGN's " Top 100 Games of All Time ", in the 2003 list which ranked it at # 62, and in the 2005 list which ranked it # 95.

The album was ranked at number eighteen on IGN's list of the " top metal albums ", issued in January 2007.

IGN's positive side of their review called the game " a very solid, well-produced first-person shooter ", but their complaints stated that: " Volition still shows some room for improvement when it comes to level design, spots of AI, and implementing the vast potential of the Geo-Mod concept ".

She was ranked eighth on IGN's top 25 best Final Fantasy characters list in 2008, as the highest ranked character from Final Fantasy X on the list, with a comment on Nomura being famous for over-accessorizing his characters, she was " over-accessorized enough ", citing her " floor-length skirt, elaborately-pinned hair, and collection of super-cute mascot dolls " as why she's the coolest looking character Nomura has ever drawn.

IGN's Matt Casamassina likened the control scheme to " old-school adventure games like Myst and Snatcher " and commended Suda51 for making a " cult hit ", " erupting with style, mood and undiluted craziness ".

" That same year, Chris and his sister Claire were included in IGN's " Ultimate Zombie Strike Team ", Chris for his " long, fruitful career killing zombies " that " proved that Umbrella's fearsome bio-weapons are no match for a lone warrior with guts.

Among negative criticism, Chris was ranked fifth in IGN's 2009 list of most overrated video game characters, with a suggestion that he should " ditch the ' roids and concentrate on getting the job done ", and included in UGO. com's 2010 list of top ten out-of-luck game characters for his failures across the series.

IGN's reviewer called it " such an ambitious game-and one that achieves nearly everything it sets out to do-that few games come close to it ", and praised the soundtrack for blending with the atmosphere unobtrusively.
