One of the cookbooks that proliferated in the colonies was The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy written by Hannah Glasse, wrote of disdain for the French style of cookery, stating “ the blind folly of this age that would rather be imposed on by a French booby, than give encouragement to a good English cook !” Of the French recipes, she does add to the text she speaks out flagrantly against the dishes as she “… think it an odd jumble of trash .” Reinforcing the anti-French sentiment was the French and Indian War from 1754-1764.

The “ perennialist ” or “ traditionalist ” school is represented by authors like the French René Guénon ( 1886 – 1951 ), the Indian Ananda Coomaraswamy ( 1877 – 1947 ), the Swiss Frithjof Schuon ( 1907 – 1998 ), the Italian Julius Evola ( 1898 – 1974 ), the Iranian Seyyed Hossein Nasr ( born in 1933 ), both scholars and esotericists.

As a comparative grammarian he was much more than as a Sanskrit scholar ,” and yet “ it is surely much that he made the grammar, formerly a maze of Indian subtilty, as simple and attractive as that of Greek or Latin, introduced the study of the easier works of Sanskrit literature and trained ( personally or by his books ) pupils who could advance far higher, invade even the most intricate parts of the literature and make the Vedas intelligible.

Although the Chinese and Indian communities could maintain their own Chinese and Tamil-language primary schools, all their students were required to learn Malay, and to study an agreed “ Malayan curriculum .” Most importantly, the entry exam to the University of Malaya ( which moved from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur in 1963 ) would be conducted in Malay, even though most teaching at the university was in English until the 1970s.

The first university in modern India was setup by the British in Calcutta in 1861 as a means of spreading western philosophical thought among the elite in India and to create in the words of Lord Macaulcay, “ a class of Indians who would be Indian in blood and colour but western in thought and ideas .” This initiative was furthered by the passing of the Universities Act of 1904.

Carson and his New Mexico Volunteers were fully occupied by “ Indian troubles ”.

The most influential and dominant school of Indian philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, rejects theism and dualism by insisting that “ Brahman reality is without parts or attributes … one without a second .” Since, Brahman has no properties, contains no internal diversity and is identical with the whole reality it cannot be understood as God.

The Sandinistas boasted that they were “ ready to eliminate the last Miskito Indian to take Sandinism to the Atlantic Coast ".

Many variants of the cocktail exist, both localized and widely known, such as a White Canadian ( made with goat's milk ), a Blind Russian ( made with Baileys Irish Cream instead of cream – the “ Blind ” comes from the drink being made with all-alcoholic ingredients ), a White Mexican ( made with horchata ), an Anna Kournikova ( made with skim milk, i. e. a “ skinny, low-fat White Russian ”), a White Cuban ( made with rum instead of vodka ) and a White Indian ( made with gin instead of vodka ).

With the arrival of a plentiful group of new European settlers reaching the eastern border, a place where multitudes of Native Americans tribes were currently situated, the government grew fearful as they believed that they were in the midst of facing an “ Indian problem ” as the racial societies were unable to coexist within the same communities.

Searching for a quick and accessible solution to their problem, William Medill the commissioner of Indian Affairs, proposed establishing “ colonies ” or “ reservations ” that would be exclusive to the natives, mimicking those which the natives had created for themselves in the east.

They wanted nothing more than to rid themselves forever of their “ Indian problem ,” to relieve themselves of their impoverished, uncivilized counterparts and replace them with independent Americanized Christian agricultural society, and so on February 8, 1887, the Dawes Allotment Act was signed into law by President Grover Cleveland.

The Quechan ( Quechan: Kwtsaan-“ those who descended ”, spelled “ kwuh-tsan ”, also in English Yuma, Yuman, Kwtsan, Kwtsaan ) are a Native American tribe who live on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation on the lower Colorado River in Arizona and California just north of the border with Mexico.

Kitchener's plan “ The Reorganisation and Redistribution of the Army in India ” recommended preparing the Indian Army for any potential war by reducing the size of fixed garrisons and reorganising it into two armies, to be commanded by the splendidly-named Generals Blood and Luck.

The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach ( the " Nation ") ( originally known as the “ Naskapis de Schefferville Indian Band ” and later as the “ Naskapi Band of Quebec ”) is a First Nation with a population of approximately 850 registered Indians, who are also beneficiaries of the Northeastern Quebec Agreement (" NEQA ").

Within contemporary Christianity, the appropriateness of describing Christian narratives as “ myth ” is a matter of disagreement.

Reichspräsident Friedrich Ebert: ( 1923 ), as Provisional President of the Weimar Republic in 1919, he contributed to the myth, in telling home-coming veterans that “ no enemy has vanquished you ”.

Contarini thus openly concludes that the Doge is a combination of myth and reality, saying that “ in everything you may see the show of a king, but his authority is nothing ”.

The Tripartite Coordination Committee, consisting of members of the government, management representatives, and trade union leaders, succeeded in preventing major social unrest during those years, thus creating the myth of a “ Luxembourg model ” characterized by social peace.

Although myth was traditionally transmitted through the oral tradition on a small scale, the technology of the film industry has enabled filmmakers to transmit myths to large audiences via film dissemination ( Singer, “ Mythmaking: Philosophy in Film ”, 3-6 ).

As in the case of myth, these narratives are believed because they construct and reinforce the worldview of the group within which they are told, or “ because they provide us with coherent and convincing explanations of complex events ”.

The Hurrian myth “ The Songs of Ullikummi ”, preserved among the Hittites, is a parallel to Hesiod's Theogony ; the castration of Uranus by Cronus may be derived from the castration of Anu by Kumarbi, while Zeus's overthrow of Cronus and Cronus's regurgitation of the swallowed gods is like the Hurrian myth of Teshub and Kumarbi.

On one level Act Without Words I “ seems a behaviourist experiment within a classical myth ”, that of Tantalus, who stood in a pool of water which receded every time he bent to drink it, and stood under a fruit tree which raised its branches every time he reached for food.

One of the primary myths initially believed by communities facing environmental injustice is that the government is “ on our side .” According to Luke W. Influenced by the Swiss anthropologist Johann Jakob Bachofen ( 1815 – 87 ), Benjamin coined the term “ auratic perception ”, denoting the aesthetic faculty by means of which civilization may recover an appreciation of myth.

Confusing fantasy and acting with reality, this has been dubbed “ gay-for-pay ”, this myth has been used to create further confusion and reinforce biphobia.
