HARM was used extensively by the United States Navy and the United States Air Force for Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War of 1991.

The administration then launched a four-day bombing campaign named Operation Desert Fox, lasting from December 16 to December 19, 1998.

Both the Tomahawk and the AGM-86 were used extensively during Operation Desert Storm.

Low-intensity storms have hit the island, including in 1901, which blew over 1, 500 coconut trees, on September 16, 1944 which caused the wreck of a Royal Air Force PBY Catalina, September 1990 which demolished the tent city then being constructed for USAF bomber crews during Operation Desert Storm, and on July 22, 2007 when winds exceeded and over of rain fell in 24 hours.

Following Operation Desert Strike in 1996, Kuwait agreed to a United States battalion task force to be permanently stationed in Kuwait.

These US Army Intrinsic Action ( later called Operation Desert Spring on 1 October 1999 ) rotations and US Marine Corps EAGER MACE rotations conducted combined training with the Kuwaiti Land Forces and other coalition partners.

* 1951 – Operation Buster-Jangle: 6, 500 American soldiers are exposed to ' Desert Rock ' atomic explosions for training purposes in Nevada.

Desert Storm, Operation

In 1991, Senegal was the only Sub-Saharan nation to send a contingent to participate in Operation Desert Storm.

In 2002, it was a primary combat zone in Operation Defensive Shield, a major military offensive by the Israeli Defense Forces ( IDF ).

* 2002 – In reaction to the Passover massacre two days prior, Israel launches Operation Defensive Shield against Palestinian militants, its largest military operation in the West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War.

His initial general officer assignment was Assistant Division Commander ( Maneuver ), 1st Cavalry Division during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.

He served as Head of the Cruiser-Destroyer Combat Systems Requirements Section and Force Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer for the Commander, Naval Surface Force, U. S. Atlantic Fleet, and he directed the Joint Staff's Crisis Action Team for Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.

In response, Israel launched Operation Defensive Shield, a major military offensive into major West Bank cities.

During Israel's Operation Defensive Shield, the Israel army recovered counterfeit money and documents from Arafat's Ramallah headquarters.

* March 27 – A Palestinian suicide bomber kills 30 Israeli civilians and injures 140 others at the Park Hotel in Netanya, triggering Operation Defensive Shield, a large-scale counter-terrorist Israeli military incursion into the West Bank, two days later.

It has been used in the Vietnam War by the United States Army, and in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm by the British Army.

During Operation Desert Shield and Storm, Navy SEALs trained Kuwaiti Special Forces.

In 2002, Ramallah was reoccupied by Israel in an IDF operation codenamed Operation Defensive Shield, which resulted in curfews, electricity cuts, school closures and disruptions of commercial life.

* In 1982 14 men of the Royal Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force were deployed to Grenada during the Operation Urgent Fury.

* 1988 – The strikes a mine in the Persian Gulf during Operation Earnest Will.

* 1994 – In a U. S. friendly fire incident during Operation Provide Comfort in northern Iraq, two United States Air Force aircraft mistakenly shoot-down two United States Army helicopters, killing 26 people.

Agent Orange is the combination of the code names for Herbicide Orange ( HO ) and Agent LNX, one of the herbicides and defoliants used by the U. S. military as part of its herbicidal warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand, during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1971.

During the spring of 1999, AMRAAMs saw their main combat action during Operation Allied Force, the Kosovo bombing campaign.

For instance during Operation Enduring Freedom the United States attacked targets of very low monetary value with cruise missiles, which led many to question the efficiency of the weapon.

Large-scale air raids in World War II, including the preliminary bombing during Operation Market Garden to aid the US 101st Airborne Division paratroopers in securing the bridges in and around the town on 18 September 1944, destroyed large parts of the city.

A gifted linguist, Frank Thompson parachuted into fascist-occupied Bulgaria as part of a " Phantom Brigade " during Operation Mulligatawny.
