Today, this is noted by signage on Interstate 80, which runs along the San Francisco Bay shoreline of Berkeley.

The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Interstate 580 which connects Marin and Contra Costa counties, the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge on Interstate 80 which connects Alameda and San Francisco counties, the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge on Highway 92 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties and the Dumbarton Bridge on Highway 84 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties.

The Carquinez Bridge on Interstate 80, the Benicia Bridge on Interstate 680 and the Antioch Bridge on Highway 160 all connect Contra Costa and Solano county.

The Ohio Turnpike carries east-west traffic on Interstate 80 and Interstate 90.

Modern-day Interstate 80 closely follows the path of the railroad, with one exception.

Between Echo, Utah and Wells, Nevada, Interstate 80 passes through the larger Salt Lake City and passes along the south shore of the Great Salt Lake.

Today, modern highways such as Interstate 80 follow the same course westward and pass through towns originally established to service the Oregon Trail.

Some emigrants continued to use the trail well into the 1890s, and modern highways and railroads eventually paralleled large portions of the trail, including U. S. Highway 26, Interstate 84 in Oregon and Idaho and Interstate 80 in Nebraska.

Today much of the Oregon Trail follows roughly along Interstate 80 from Wyoming to Grand Island, Nebraska.

Record high water levels in the 1980s caused a large amount of property damage for owners on the eastern side of the Great Salt Lake, and the water started to erode the base of Interstate Highway 80.

Smoke Rise lies east of Interstate 65 in western Blount County, with most homes sitting atop Bryant Mountain or in the valley below.

It lies on the route of Historic Route 66, Interstate 40, and the Southwest Chief Amtrak train route.

Maricopa lies approximately 15 miles west of Interstate 10 and 15 miles north of Interstate 8.

The main commercial development of Morongo Valley lies along Highway 62 approximately 10 miles / 16 km north of Interstate 10 and is the first San Bernardino County town travelers encounter when driving north from the Coachella Valley.

The historical downtown lies along County Road Five, which runs north-south parallel to Interstate 25 half a mile to the east ( Existing Land Use Map ).

Much of the road between St. Louis and Gray Summit was the original U. S. Route 66, though this was only temporary until US 66 moved to its later location at what is now Watson Rd ( Route 366 ) and Interstate 44.

In Missouri, US 50 leaves I-435 for Interstate 470 splitting at Lee's Summit.

Interstate 15 does not traverse Cajon Pass itself but rather the nearby Cajon Summit,, elevation.

The last one-fourth of the expansion is which includes the climb up to Tiger Summit and the last to Interstate 90 with a freeway-to-freeway connection.

Parley's Canyon begins where Interstate 215 merges into I-80 in Salt Lake City and ends at Parley's Summit.

S. Route 25 ( Dixie Drive ) from West Carrollton to Interstate 70 ; Interstate 70 from Dixie Drive to near Enon ( the current I-70 / SR 4 split ); State Route 4 from near Enon to Springfield ; U. S. Route 40 from Springfield to Columbus ; Broad St. ( US 40 ) in Columbus, to 4th Street, to Summit / 3rd Street ( US 23 ), to Hudson Street, to Interstate 71 ; I-71 from Columbus to just east of Medina ( the only portion of Interstate 71 complete at the time ); State Route 18 from near Medina to Montrose ; U. S. Route 21 from Montrose to Brecksville ; State Route 82 from Brecksville to Aurora ; ( an alternate SR 1 ran from Twinsburg southeast along State Route 14 to Streetsboro and then on State Route 43 to Aurora, in order to connect SR 1 to the Ohio Turnpike ;) State Route 306 from Aurora to State Route 84 ; SR 84 from State Route 306 to just west of what was then State Route 44 ; due south to Interstate 90 along what is now a section of SR 44 ; and finally Interstate 90 to the Pennsylvania state line.
