* July 12 – Jack Cade was slain in a revolt against British King Henry VI.

In 1450, a number of riots broke out at roughly the same time Jack Cade led a famous rebellion through London.

The riots were for related reasons to those of Jack Cade and his followers, however the decline of the cloth trade may have also been influential.

Led by Jack Cade ( taking the name Mortimer ), they took control of London and killed John Fiennes, 1st Baron Saye and Sele, the Lord High Treasurer of England.

" In response, Salisbury branded Chamberlain a ' Sicilian bandit ' and Stafford Northcote called him ' Jack Cade '.

Other famous heads on pikes included those of Jack Cade in 1450, Thomas More in 1535, Bishop John Fisher in the same year, and Thomas Cromwell in 1540.

* Jack Cade – rebel leader

Before leaving, he enlists a former officer of his, Jack Cade, to stage a popular revolt in order to ascertain whether the common people would support York should he make an open move for power.

Henry however ignores this, and continues to deal with the rebel demands, saying simply, " Lord Saye, Jack Cade hath sworn to have thy head " ( 4. 4. 18 ).

Jack Cade, played by Michael Pennington was presented as a punk with spiked hair and wearing a shirt depicting a Union Jack with a white rose in the middle, and during the Cade rebellion, football hooligan chants were heard.

The tenth episode, " The Fall of a Protector " covers Acts 1, 2 and Act 3, Scene 1, ending with York's soliloquy regarding the fact that he now has troops at his disposal and his revelation of his plans to use Jack Cade to instigate a popular rebellion.

The final part is the Orb so Jack has to find his way to the Necromancers ' Land of the Dead through Dismal Swamp and upon reassembling the Staff, he follows Hecubah to the Underworld and defeats her in the final climatic fight.
