Jacob Ettlinger ( 17 March 1798 – 7 December 1871 ) ( Hebrew: יעקב עטלינגר ) was a German rabbi and author, and one of the leaders of Orthodox Judaism.

His son Jacob Emden served as rabbi in Emden and followed in his father's footsteps in combating the Sabbatean movement.

Obadiah ben Jacob Sforno ( Obadja Sforno, Hebrew: עובדיה ספורנו ) was an Italian rabbi, Biblical commentator, philosopher and physician.
