The fauna is also varied: Eastern Grey Kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, magpies, rosellas and ravens are commonly seen.

Amongst the large variety of wildlife are Eastern grey Kangaroos, Wallaroos, Wallabies and Koalas which live in the park near water and fertile soils.

Among the larger more common species are wild dogs, Antilopine Kangaroos, Black Wallaroos, Agile Wallabys, and Short-eared Rock Wallabys.

Kangaroos are common among the open hillsides with abundant grasses.

Cape Barren Geese are common on the island, as are Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Eastern Bettongs and other marsupials.

Most mammals are only active at night, so if you arrive early or leave late, you might be lucky enough to see one, such as Echidnas, Wallabies and Kangaroos.

Eastern Grey Kangaroos are very common in the park ’ s camping areas.

Emus, Wedge-tailed Eagles, and both Western Grey and Red Kangaroos are present.

Woodlands and Tuart forests are also found within the park and contain fauna including Western Grey Kangaroos, emus, brush wallabys, brush-tailed possums, echidna and bandicoots.

Kangaroos are adept swimmers, and often flee into waterways if threatened by a predator.

Kangaroos and horses are examples.

Kangaroos and koalas are two examples that inhabit a warm environment, while the wombat demonstrates its ability to withstand a cold climate.

The Forest of Gugu contained an assortment of animals ranging from animals that are found in Africa ( consisting of Elephants, Hippos, Leopards, Monkeys, Rhinos, and Zebras ) to animals that are found everywhere else ( consisting of Bears, Bison, Donkeys, Foxes, Green Serpents, Kangaroos, Unicorns, and Wolves ).

Kangaroos are the most likely of those to be spotted, but wombats and other marsupials may be found.

The Sunshine Football Club, the Sunshine Kangaroos, are the local Australian Rules football team.

There are many things to see in the park, mostly native vegetation and wildlife, Eastern Grey Kangaroos are easily seen at any time in open grasslands.

Nearly all the island's animals are native to Tasmania although some, including Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Red-necked Wallabies and Cape Barren Geese, were introduced during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
