Killswitch Engage played the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August 2006, having already played Australian dates without Dutkiewicz, who was suffering from back problems and needed corrective surgery.

Killswitch Engage entered the studio in October 2008 to start recording their next album with Dutkiewicz and Brendan O ' Brien co-producing the album.

" From March to May, Killswitch Engage was a part of Disturbed's Music as a Weapon IV festival along with Lacuna Coil, Chimaira, Suicide Silence, Bury Your Dead and more.

On April 14, the band announced the name of their album as Killswitch Engage, the second time the band has self-titled an album.

In July and August, Killswitch Engage took part in Mayhem Festival with headliners Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine and others.

In February 2010, Killswitch Engage announced that vocalist Howard Jones would not be performing with Killswitch Engage during their winter tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquillity ; during the time, All That Remains vocalist Philip Labonte was substituting for Jones until he could return.

Afterward, Killswitch Engage took a break from the road, and its members pursued other interests.

D ' Antonio started the hardcore band Death Ray Vision, with Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair and former Killswitch Engage guitarist Pete Cortese.

D ' Antonio stated, " Currently, everyone is individually writing demos for the next Killswitch Engage record.

" Adam Dutkiewicz followed that up with a statement on the Killswitch Engage Facebook, saying " YO!

" On December 1, 2011, Mike D ' Antonio posted online that Killswitch Engage should be entering the studio around February / March 2012 to record their sixth album expected around summer 2012.

He likewise thanked the other members of Killswitch Engage and the fans for standing by him and for the many experiences they shared, and also left the door open for further musical endeavors in the future.

Like many metalcore bands, Killswitch Engage incorporates both singing and screaming vocals in their music.

In 2009, MTV, while naming " The Greatest Metal Bands of All Time " referred to Killswitch Engage as " one of the founders of metalcore ".

Ferret were said to have signed Killswitch Engage mainly because metal was becoming less and less popular at the time, and representatives felt that they might be the last metal band they would ever sign.

Members of these bands have gone on to other endeavors including Shadows Fall, Killswitch ngage, Headrush, Diecast, Medium Regular, World War, and Missile Thrush.

In June 2000, Killswitch Engage released their debut album, titled Killswitch Engage through Ferret Records.

Upon the release of the album, Killswitch Engage embarked on their first nation wide tour, supporting Soilwork and Hypocrisy and would tour for the next year in support of Alive or Just Breathing.

Missing his wife whom he had married two weeks prior to the tour, Jesse Leach left Killswitch Engage in the middle of their first national tour.

Following the breakup of these two bands, two other metalcore acts spawned from a number of their members, namely Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall, two of the best-selling bands in metalcore.

They toured intensely behind the record ( playing shows with acts like Killswitch Engage and Poison the Well ) through December, taking two months off before beginning the work on their next album.

He has assumed the role of producer on all of Killswitch Engage's records, except on their second self-titled album Killswitch Engage, which was released June 30, 2009.

Mike Gitter was reluctant to hear of this when Killswitch Engage turned the record into Roadrunner, but was ultimately pleased with the results.

Killswitch Productions said: " It's extremely cool to work with a band who is willing to allow the music and imagery to speak for itself and who does not insist on themselves being the prominent focus of the video.

They toured with many bands including: Hatebreed, Kittie, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, and Eighteen Visions.

Soilwork toured throughout Europe to support the album, and, for the first time, throughout the United States, first with bands Hypocrisy, Scar Culture, Chimaira, Unearth and Killswitch Engage during the summer, then alongside label mates In Flames during the fall.

The band took part on an American tour with co-headliners Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage, as well as DevilDriver.

They released the single " No One There " which peaked The Finnish Charts at Number 1 following that with an extensive USA tour alongside Killswitch Engage, Dark Tranquillity and In Flames.

They were also included on the first Taste of Chaos tour in 2005 with such notable acts as The Used, My Chemical Romance, and Killswitch Engage.

After touring the United States, they headed off to Europe to begin the European Road Rage Tour with Killswitch Engage and Five Pointe O.

They toured the UK and Europe with Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean and Darkest Hour.

In 2005, Ferret released a remastered version of the album, with four demo tracks from a 1999 demo, which was originally sold at a show within which Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and In Flames played together at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, which apparently sold incredibly well, as said in the documentary feature From the Bedroom to the Basement from the live DVD ( Set This ) World Ablaze.

Also, he worked on another album with Killswitch Engage bandmate, Adam Dutkiewicz.
