Killswitch Engage entered the studio in October 2008 to start recording their next album with Dutkiewicz and Brendan O ' Brien co-producing the album.

" From March to May, Killswitch Engage was a part of Disturbed's Music as a Weapon IV festival along with Lacuna Coil, Chimaira, Suicide Silence, Bury Your Dead and more.

On April 14, the band announced the name of their album as Killswitch Engage, the second time the band has self-titled an album.

In July and August, Killswitch Engage took part in Mayhem Festival with headliners Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine and others.

In February 2010, Killswitch Engage announced that vocalist Howard Jones would not be performing with Killswitch Engage during their winter tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquillity ; during the time, All That Remains vocalist Philip Labonte was substituting for Jones until he could return.

Afterward, Killswitch Engage took a break from the road, and its members pursued other interests.

D ' Antonio started the hardcore band Death Ray Vision, with Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair and former Killswitch Engage guitarist Pete Cortese.

D ' Antonio stated, " Currently, everyone is individually writing demos for the next Killswitch Engage record.

" On December 1, 2011, Mike D ' Antonio posted online that Killswitch Engage should be entering the studio around February / March 2012 to record their sixth album expected around summer 2012.

He likewise thanked the other members of Killswitch Engage and the fans for standing by him and for the many experiences they shared, and also left the door open for further musical endeavors in the future.

Like many metalcore bands, Killswitch Engage incorporates both singing and screaming vocals in their music.

In 2009, MTV, while naming " The Greatest Metal Bands of All Time " referred to Killswitch Engage as " one of the founders of metalcore ".

In 2005, Ferret released a remastered version of the album, with four demo tracks from a 1999 demo, which was originally sold at a show within which Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and In Flames played together at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, which apparently sold incredibly well, as said in the documentary feature From the Bedroom to the Basement from the live DVD ( Set This ) World Ablaze.

They followed with a support tour for US groups Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God, The Sydney show had 3, 500 patrons at Luna Park, where I Killed the Prom Queen also played at the annual Come Together Music Festival.

In summer of 2001, Killswitch Engage recorded a demo produced by drummer / guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz which featured the songs " Transfiguration " ( which would later become " Fixation on the Darkness "), " Just Barely Breathing ", and " Numbered Days ".

Adam Jonathan Dutkiewicz ( born April 4, 1977 ) is an American musician, recording engineer and music producer, best known as a guitarist and backup vocalist from Massachusetts metalcore band Killswitch Engage.

Stroetzel would later join Dutkiewicz, Mike D ' Antonio, and Jesse Leach in forming Killswitch Engage.

Dutkiewicz was the drummer of Killswitch Engage, until the release of its second album, Alive or Just Breathing, when he moved to guitars, and Tom Gomes became the band's drummer.

In 1999, Leach joined bassist Mike D ' Antonio, guitarist Joel Stroetzel, and drummer Adam Dutkiewicz to form Killswitch Engage.

Also, he worked on another album with Killswitch Engage bandmate, Adam Dutkiewicz.

While at college Stroetzel began playing in the band Aftershock with Adam Dutkiewicz, who would later join him in forming Killswitch Engage.

Production, mixing and engineering were by the Killswitch Engage guitarist, Adam Dutkiewicz.

As Killswitch Engage started writing for Alive or Just Breathing, then-guitarist Pete Cortese, who co-wrote " Fixation on the Darkness ", left the band to spend more with his family.

Jesse Leach stated there was a small portion of Killswitch Engage fans who disliked his use of clean singing on the album.
