* Queen Caroline, consort of King George II of Great Britain was born in Ansbach in 1683.

In Eger ( Cheb ) on 11 November 1464 Albert married Zdenka ( Sidonie ), daughter of George of Podebrady, King of Bohemia ; but failed to obtain the Bohemian Crown on the death of George in 1471.

Founded in 1764 prior to American independence from the British Empire as the College in the English Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations early in the reign of King George III ( 1760 – 1820 ), Brown is the third oldest institution of higher education in New England and seventh oldest in the United States.

The college gained its charter by grant of King George III.

The current Governor of the Bank of England is Sir Mervyn King, who took over on 30 June 2003 from Sir Edward George.

Erasmus Darwin ( 12 December 1731 – 18 April 1802 ) was an English physician who turned down George III's invitation to be a physician to the King.

Just two months before their meeting, Prince William of Denmark and Norway, King William III's nephew and son of the future Queen Anne, died.
