With Gawain holding the axe aloft, the stage is suddenly blacked out and, within a minute, the action has been rewound to the point preceding the Green Knight's entry to the Court of Arthur.

The third stage of this award, which Dr. Franz Bake held, was the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.

Important influences on the depiction of the Ripper include Marie Belloc Lowndes ' 1913 novel The Lodger, which has been adapted for the stage and film, and Stephen Knight's 1976 work Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution, which expanded on a conspiracy theory involving freemasons, royalty and the medical profession that features in many subsequent dramatisations.

It appeared in the final episode of the TV show Six Feet Under and has also been prominently featured in the movies Arthur, Three Kings, A Knight's Tale and Land of the Lost, as well as in the trailer for the movie Tropic Thunder and in the end credits music in episode 24 (" One Day in the Valley ") of Entourage.

Knight's many television credits include Target: The Corruptors !, The Eleventh Hour, The Fugitive, The Virginian, thirtysomething, The Invaders, The Reporter, L. A. Law, Murder, She Wrote, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Maggie Winters, House M. D., Crossing Jordan, Cold Case, ER and Hot in Cleveland, among others, in addition to television movies such as Indictment: The McMartin Trial, for which she won both the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie and the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Works produced in this period include Filostrato and Teseida ( the sources for Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde and The Knight's Tale, respectively ), Filocolo, a prose version of an existing French romance, and La caccia di Diana, a poem in terza rima listing Neapolitan women.

While chivalric romances abound, particularly notable literary portrayals of knighthood include Geoffrey Chaucer's The Knight's Tale, Baldassare Castiglione's The Book of the Courtier, and Miguel de Cervantes ' Don Quixote, as well as Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d ' Arthur and other Arthurian tales ( Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia Regum Britanniae, the Pearl Poet's Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, etc.

Dean Taylor ’ s " There ’ s A Ghost In My House " from 1967 ( UK # 3, May 1974 ).

Both Friars and Knights follow the Order's " Guiding Document ," which outlines the Friar or Knight's behavior and duties, which may include praying the Seven Ray ( Franciscan ) Rosary, and the Divine Office as amended and approved by the Church.

Knight's feature films include The Group ( 1966 ), The Dutchman ( 1966 ), Petulia ( 1968 ), The Rain People ( 1969 ) and As Good as It Gets ( 1997 ), and Elevator ( 2011 ), in which she plays one of several people trapped in a Wall Street elevator with someone who has a bomb.

Notable creations include a time device, a punk potion, the monster Shellshock, and the Nasty Knight's sword.

Books which have both boy and girl protagonists have tended to focus more on the boys, but important girl characters appear in Knight's Castle, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Book of Three and the Harry Potter series.

In 1312 the Knight's Templar were suppressed and the Manor of Strood passed into private hands briefly before being passed on to the Abbess and Sisters Minorites of St. Clare of Denney in Cambridgeshire.

Judith Merril's annual anthologies ( 1957 – 1968 ), Damon Knight's Orbit series, and Harlan Ellison's Dangerous Visions featured American writers inspired by British writers ( although some of the writers anthologized were British ).

Newsweek revealed in June 2001 that print ads for at least four movies released by Columbia Pictures, including A Knight's Tale and The Animal ( 2001 ), contained glowing comments from a film reviewer who did not exist.

A more recent account, by Sally Jenkins ( of the Washington Post ) and John Stauffer ( chair of the Program in the History of the American Civilization and professor of English and of African and African American studies at Harvard University ), which developed from a screenplay, draws on what they claim to be more extensive research to emphasize the extent to which, in the view of those authors, Knight ended Confederate control of Jones County during the war, and the extent of Knight's Unionist and anti-racist sympathies, both during the war and during Reconstruction.

Originally a much larger town, rectangular in shape ( except for a small extension southward taking up part of the modern area of Knight's Corner ) and extending eastward to the top of Prescott Hill ( where Daniel Shays once lived ), the land east of the West Branch of the Swift River was annexed by the town of Prescott in the latter half of the nineteenth centuries ( maps made in 1855 and 1862 both show this land still belonging to Pelham ).

Among the companies using Knight's technology were Avions Voisin, Daimler ( 1909 – 1930s ) including their V12 Double Six, Panhard ( 1911 – 39 ), Mercedes ( 1909 – 24 ), Willys ( as the Willys-Knight, plus the associated Falcon-Knight ), Stearns, Mors, Peugeot, and Belgium's Minerva company that was forced to stop its sleeve-valve line of engines as a result of the limitations imposed on them by the winners of WWII, some thirty companies in all.

The lark in mythology and literature stands for daybreak, as in Chaucer's " The Knight's Tale ", " the bisy larke, mesager of day " ( I. 1487 ; Benson 1988 ), and Shakespeare's Sonnet 29, " the lark at break of day arising / From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate " ( 11-12 ).

He also published Remarks on Collier's and Knight's Editions of Shakespeare ( 1844 ); A Few Notes on Shakespeare ( 1853 ); and Strictures on Collier's new Edition of Shakespeare ( 1859 ), a contribution to the Collier controversy, which ended a long friendship between the two scholars.

In Knight's version, she recited some of the lyrics from " Try To Remember " in spoken-word fashion before beginning to sing " The Way We Were ".
