The school is home to six different fraternities: Kappa Alpha Order, Alpha Phi Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Kappa Sigma ; as well as five sororities: Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu, Chi Omega, and Delta Sigma Theta.

Some of these organizations are based within the University, notably the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority of the College of Medicine, recognized by UP Manila and the City of Manila as its outstanding organizations, LIKAS and Pagsama, both multi-college organizations and the Phi Lambda delta Sorority and Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity, also of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine.

Georgetown College has four national fraternities ( Kappa Alpha Order, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Tau and Pi Kappa Alpha ) and four national sororities ( Alpha Gamma Delta, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu and Sigma Kappa ) on campus.

The honor societies represented at BSU include Delta Mu Delta, Lambda Pi Eta, and Sigma Tau Delta.

In 2004, the Nu Mu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, held a voter registration drive in DeKalb County, Georgia, from which Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox ( Dem.

Nu Mu Lambda filed Charles H. Wesley Education Foundation v. Cathy Cox on the basis that the Georgia Secretary of State's long-standing policy and practice of rejecting mail-in voter registration applications that were submitted in bundles and / or by persons other than registrars, deputy registrars, or the individual applicants, violated the requirements of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 by undermining voter registration drives.

Warfield was made an honorary member of the Delta Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Ball State University in 1961, and awarded the Fraternity's Charles E. Lutton Man of Music Award in 1976 at its national convention in Evansville, Indiana.

Subsequent to the so-called Baby Rocket, launch vehicles developed by Japan have been given names from the Greek alphabet, i. e. Alpha, Beta, Kappa, Omega, Lambda, and Mu.

Although Lambda rockets were only sounding rockets, the next generation of M ( Mu ) rockets was intended to be satellite launch vehicles from the start.

Lambda Chi Alpha ( LXA ) traces its roots at Simpson to 1924 where it existed as the national fraternity Theta Kappa Nu, which merged with Lambda Chi Alpha in 1939.
