In 1995, after the Beatles released Lennon's " Free as a Bird " and " Real Love " with demos provided by Ono, McCartney and his family collaborated with her and Sean Lennon to create the song " Hiroshima Sky is Always Blue ", which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the atomic bombing of that Japanese city.
These included selected early demos and takes for Lennon's " Strawberry Fields Forever ", previously available only to bootleg collectors.
Many of Lennon's demos that appeared on bootlegs were first heard on the radio series The Lost Lennon Tapes.
The idea of re-doing some of Lennon's old songs apparently was inspired by former Beatles road manager Neil Aspinall and Harrison, who first requested some old demos from Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono.

The piece, titled " My Mummy Was Beautiful ", was dedicated to Lennon's mother, Julia, who had died when Lennon was a teenager.
The poem was an intro to a performance of the song " Imagine ", Lennon's anthem to world peace.

At the beginning of the Let It Be version of the song, Lennon can be heard jokingly saying " Sweet Loretta Fart ( often misheard as " fat ", due to Lennon's pronunciation ), she thought she was a cleaner, but she was a frying pan.
Another song featured on the album was " 20 Years in the Dakota ", which discussed Yoko Ono's struggles as John Lennon's wife, a position which Love herself has been frequently compared to, due to the perception that Ono drew Lennon away from The Beatles and that Love drew Cobain away from Nirvana.

In July 1971, Curtis recorded saxophone solos on " It's So Hard " and " I Don't Wanna Be a Soldier Mama I Don't Wanna Die " from John Lennon's Imagine.
