Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California.

In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium.

Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade chart.

Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

The founding of Linkin Park began with three high school friends ; Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson.

The band ’ s renaissance culminated with a change in name ; from Hybrid Theory, the band once again changed its name, this time to Linkin Park, a play on and homage to Santa Monica ’ s Lincoln Park.

After facing numerous rejections from several major record labels, Linkin Park turned to Jeff Blue for additional help.

Linkin Park released Hybrid Theory on October 24, 2000.

During this time, Linkin Park received many invitations to perform on many high-profile tours and concerts including Ozzfest, Family Values Tour and KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas.

Within a year ’ s stretch, Linkin Park had performed at over 320 concerts.

Following the success of Hybrid Theory and Reanimation, Linkin Park spent a significant amount of time touring around the United States.

The album's success allowed Linkin Park to form another Projekt Revolution, which featured other bands and artists including Mudvayne, Blindside, and Xzibit.

Additionally, Metallica invited Linkin Park to play at the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003, which included well-known acts such as Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Deftones.

In early 2004, Linkin Park started a world tour titled the Meteora World Tour.

Linkin Park also received significant recognition during the 2004 Radio Music Awards, winning the Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (" Numb ") awards.

White People continued Handsome Boy's tradition of strange skits and an odd mix of guests over Paul-and Automator-produced beats, including The RZA, Linkin Park, Tim Meadows, and John Oates.

Linkin Park's fourth album, A Thousand Suns, was also co-produced with Rick Rubin and was released on September 14, 2010, with its first single, " The Catalyst ", a success.

Cornell has also performed live with the band Linkin Park.

There was also a brief appearance by future Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson.

During the summer of 2007, Taking Back Sunday was also a part of Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour, along with My Chemical Romance, HIM, and several other bands.

New arrangements for piano of more contemporary works were also included on the album, namely Linkin Park's " Crawling " and Daniel Bedingfield's " If You're Not the One ".

Samples from that song are also featured in the remix for " Cure for the Itch ", titled, " KYUR4 TH ICH " on Linkin Park's Reanimation remix album, and The X-Ecutioners ' " It's Goin ' Down ".

The band also held the opening spot on the main stage during the Projekt Revolution tour in the summer of 2004 with Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, and The Used before taking a long break to write their next record.

Groban also performed the song " Remember " ( with Tanja Tzarovska ) on the Troy soundtrack, " Believe " on the soundtrack to the 2004 animated film The Polar Express, and a cover of Linkin Park's " My December ".

They spent a lot of time touring, especially in the United States, where they not only toured with Linkin Park but became a source of inspiration ( for Linkin Park ), forming a close friendship with Ciaran and Declan O ' Shea also lending their own audio and mixing skills to the band on a number of occasions.

On August 3, 2003, Texas Stadium also host the return of the Summer Sanitarium Tour featuring Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, and Mudvayne.

The series has featured main themes from such successful acts as Kasabian, Muse, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon, Bloc Party, Cannibal Corpse, Naked pistol, Oasis, Fatboy Slim, Blur, Robbie Williams, Duffy, Moby, Gorillaz, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto and each game also contains a selection of tracks from contemporary album releases of the time, generally revolving around indie rock, electronica and world music.

The green was also host to Download Festival Scotland in 2004 a live music festival featuring Metallica, Linkin Park, Korn and Slipknot.

Linkin Park also composed a new instrumental piece titled " Issho Ni " for the Tsunami Relief album.

He has also remixed songs for bands and artists in other genres such as Linkin Park and Morcheeba.

The Canadian music festival Edgefest has also called Downsview Park home for the last two years with Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, The Sam Roberts Band, Billy Talent, AFI, Alexisonfire and Metric performing.

Thought has also made guest performances on several other records including " Pimpas Paradise " by Damian " Jr. Gong " Marley, Team by Dilated Peoples, One Day It'll All Make Sense by Common, Reanimation by Linkin Park, Pick a Bigger Weapon by The Coup, The Rising Tied by Fort Minor and A Ma Zone by Zap Mama.

Viejas Arena is also used as a large concert venue where major acts perform, including the Foo Fighters, A Day To Remember, Linkin Park, Metallica, Green Day, Rise Against, Lady Gaga, One Direction, Tool, and Drake.

The group also made a cameo appearance in the music video for " We Made It " by Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park, which was released on April 29, 2008.
