Love initially gained notoriety in the Los Angeles indie rock scene as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for alternative rock band Hole, which she formed in 1989 with lead guitarist Eric Erlandson.

After forming Hole in 1989, Love and bandmate Eric Erlandson had a relationship for over a year, though it was kept a secret.

Although there are conflicting dates as to when they met ( some sources state that they met in January 1989 at the Satyricon nightclub ), Love stated that the two first encountered one another in January 1988 at a Dharma Bums show where she was doing a spoken word performance, and Erlandson stated that both he and Love were formally introduced to Cobain in a parking lot after a Butthole Surfers concert at the Hollywood Paladium in 1991.

The band is fronted by singer-songwriter Courtney Love ( vocals, rhythm guitar ), who co-founded Hole with lead guitarist Eric Erlandson.

Erlandson, however, stated that no reunion could take place contractually without mutual involvement between Love and Erlandson.

Despite the dispute between Erlandson and Love, the new Hole album was released in April 2010 and the band toured Europe and North America in support of the record.

Hole formed after Eric Erlandson replied to an advertisement placed by Courtney Love in punk rock fanzine Flipside in the summer of 1989.

" In retrospect, Love said that Erlandson " had a Thurston quality about him ", " dressed cool ", and was an " intensely weird, good guitarist.

" In his 2012 book, Letters to Kurt, Erlandson revealed that he and Love had a sexual relationship during their first year together in the band, which Love also confirmed.

Erlandson was a California native and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, and was working as a royalties manager for Capitol Records at the time he met Love.

The band's first rehearsal took place in Fortress Studios in Hollywood with Love, Erlandson and Lisa Roberts on bass.

Both Love and Erlandson were fans of the notorious LA punk band The Germs.

The same year, the band released their first compilation album, My Body, The Hand Grenade ( 1997 ), which was produced chiefly by Eric Erlandson ; Love designed the packaging and artwork on the album.

The studio work on Celebrity Skin took almost a year and a half — according to Erlandson, Love was more focused on song-writing and singing and " did not care about her instrument ".

Though Love and Erlandson had authorized Schemel's replacement, Love stated in 2011 that Beinhorn was notorious for replacing drummers during recording, and referred to him as " a Nazi ".

Love wrote all the lyrics, while Erlandson, assistant-producing alongside Michael Beinhorn, had a hand in every song.

Despite being the only two remaining members of the group, Love and Erlandson still continued with Hole.

Love and Erlandson officially disbanded Hole via a message posted on the band's website in 2002.

House of Love in 1994 continued in the same vein, boasting catchy pop songs mingled with spiritual lyrics.

Love then retreated to Anchorage, Alaska for several months where she continued to strip to support herself.

Parton continued to make inroads on the pop charts as well with a re-recorded version of " I Will Always Love You " from the feature film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas ( 1982 ) scraping the Top 50 that year and her duet with Kenny Rogers, " Islands in the Stream " ( written by the Bee Gees and produced by Barry Gibb ), spent two weeks at number one in 1983.

She continued touring in 1986 with the Think About Love Tour, and 1989 for the White Limozeen Tour.

Don McLean has continued to record new material including River of Love in 1995 on Curb Records and, more recently, the albums You've Got to Share, Don McLean Sings Marty Robbins and The Western Album on his own Don McLean Music label.

The final single, " Road to Love ," was poorly received. Jones and Maureen McCormick in 1971 during The Brady Bunch episode in which he was a guest star Jones also continued acting after the Monkees, either as himself or another character.

Lee continued using the Love name on an on-and-off basis until his death in 2006.

She continued to produce films for others, including Sleep, My Love ( 1948 ) with Claudette Colbert and Love Happy ( 1949 ) with the Marx Brothers.

Bono continued his acting career, doing bit roles in such shows as Fantasy Island and The Love Boat.

Lynne continued to work with Harrison occasionally, including acting as producer for the two " new " Beatles singles " Free as a Bird " ( 1995 ) and " Real Love " ( 1996 ) for The Beatles Anthology.

She continued her tenure in the 1990s with Woody Allen's musical Everyone Says I Love You ( 1996 ) and reuniting with Steve Martin for the comedy The Out-of-Towners ( 1999 ), a remake of the 1970 Neil Simon hit.

Peter Murphy began a solo career while the other members continued as Tones on Tail and, later, Love and Rockets.

Arthur Lee, as the only remaining member, convened a new lineup and continued recording as Love.

The next two albums, Gold und Liebe ( Gold and Love ) and Für immer ( Forever ), continued in the same vein, until, as one British music journalist of the time put it, D. A. F.

It began on March 6, the release date of Love at the Bottom of the Sea, and continued for two months.

The band continued this transformation with an unexpected cover of the Joy Division song " Love Will Tear Us Apart ", which was released in 1988 on Product Inc. in a confusing array of 7-and 12-inch formats.

Erlandson continued to work as a producer and session musician, eventually forming the experimental group RRIICCEE with controversial artist, Vincent Gallo and Love began a solo career, releasing her debut, America's Sweetheart in 2004.

The album continued Summer's streak of gold albums with the title track peaking at 3 in the US, though its follow-up singles, " Cold Love " and " Who Do You Think You're Foolin '" were only modestly received.

While the album itself failed to become a success, the song " When Love Cries " continued her success on the R & B charts, reaching 18.

In 2004 and 2005, Summer's success on the dance charts continued with the songs " You're So Beautiful " and " I Got Your Love ".

Another Americana-style song was a bluegrass-influenced cover of " I Love Her All the Time " by Sonic Youth, which continued the band's traditions of doing countrified versions of punk and alternative songs.
