Published in London on 17 June 1771, it is an epistolary novel, presented in the form of letters written by six different characters: Matthew Bramble, a Welsh Squire ; his sister Tabitha ; their niece and nephew, Jery and Lydia Melford ; Tabitha's maid Winifred Jenkins ; and Lydia's suitor, Wilson.

Among the items, persons, and scenes tattooed on Lydia's body are the Battle of Waterloo ( on her back ), The Wreck of the Hesperus ( beside it ), the red, white and blue ( above them ); the cities of Kankakee and " Paree ", Washington Crossing the Delaware, President Andrew Jackson, Niagara, Alcatraz, Buffalo Bill, Captain Spaulding exploring the Amazon, Lady Godiva ( with her pajamas on ), Grover Whalen, the Trylon, Treasure Island, Nijinsky, and a fleet of ships ( on her hips ).

Lydia's 2000 debut single " Real to Me " was a minor radio hit, while her second single " One Perfect Day " ( released 4 years later ) from the Australian film of the same name debuted at number 35 on the Australian charts on 23 February 2004.

Throughout the series, Beetlejuice would often try to scam residents of the Neitherworld — and, sometimes, the " real world " as well ( Lydia's parents were occasional unwitting victims of his pranks ) – by various means, from " baby-sitting " ( in which he literally sits on the grotesque Neitherworld babies ) to trying to beat them in an auto race.

Beetlejuice's main pastime is pulling various pranks on the other denizens of the Neitherworld such as Jacques, Ginger, The Monster Across the Street, Poopsie, the Mayor and in the Living World it is Lydia's rival Claire Brewster, Lydia's parents or sometimes Lydia herself.

A number of times, Beetlejuice interacted with Lydia's parents in the " real world " of Peaceful Pines, always under the name of " Mr. Beetleman ", and in a couple of instances, he performed a gender change on himself to become a teenage girl about Lydia's age, as " Mr. Beetleman's " relative " Betty Juice " along with once or twice appearing as a cousin claiming to be on Delia's side of the family.

Lydia is established as being a creative, bright, sharp, yet eccentric young girl, but otherwise Lydia's unique outlook on life makes her stand out from most of the other school-girls, which leaves her feeling out of place and alone in the real world, finding it difficult to fit in well with most of her classmates — leading her to frequently visit and seek out reassurence with her closest best friend, Beetlejuice, in the Neitherworld, where she is accepted and loved for who she is as a person.

After Lydia's elimination, Stephenie became concerned on an earlier deal made by Rafe and Danni to take each other to the final tribal council ; though she struggled to remain in the final immunity challenge and outlast Danni, she ultimately lost, becoming emotional over her failure.

Kevin Dillon played Paulie, Lydia's younger brother who was a young officer on the Bellefield Police Department who still lived at home.

The show mixed family situations with situations focusing on Lydia's life as a young single woman looking for both love and stable career, and for more out of life than simply raising children.

-Billy's son Max, an aspiring anime artist-Rhonda Cheing, Billy's secretary who is trying to pursue Billy and sees Lydia's untimely arrival as a threat to her plans at winning Billy's heart, despite the fact that his wife, who ran out on him, would show up in the third season ( Rhonda would later lose interest in Billy in the final season )- Sulaiman Yusof, a former stuntman who now works as the maintenance man in Billy's company.

Hugh threatens Lydia's family with eviction from their land, and she asks Nanny Collins for help.

Near the end of his life, Maynard's first wife Lydia sold any rights she may have had in Maynard's property to a person who promptly sued Maynard for Lydia's share of Maynard's property in Seattle ( claiming that they had never been divorced ; while he was still married when he built his fortune, the common law is not entirely clear as to her claim ).

On a few occasions, other people and ghosts went to the Neitherworld or the living world, either when Lydia takes them with her by chanting Beetlejuice's name, or presumably through a door that connects Lydia's and Beetlejuice's homes.

Despite her love of all things ' strange and unusual ', Lydia is also a positive, well-mannered, friendly and patient girl, ( being best friends with Beetlejuice is a testament towards Lydia's saint-like patience.

It is frequently made clear that Beetlejuice's dedication to her is a source of Lydia's own self-confidence.

* Delia Deetz – In the film, she was Lydia's stepmother, but the cartoon appears to present her as Lydia's actual biological mother ; Lydia refers to her as " Mother " or " Mom ", instead of using her first name as in the film.

Isabel Archer, originally from Albany, New York, is invited by her maternal aunt, Lydia Touchett, to visit Lydia's rich husband Daniel at his estate near London, following the death of Isabel's father.

After his wife Lydia's early death in 1861, Pratt married her younger sister Mary Helen Richardson in September 1863.

Lydia's skill was in marketing her product directly to women, and her company continued her shrewd marketing tactics after her death.

This version concluded with the Deetzes returning to New York and leaving Lydia in the care of the Maitlands, who, with Lydia's help, transform the exterior of their home into a stereotypical haunted house while returning the interior to its previous state.

Also, unlike the movie Lydia's parents have no idea of Beetlejuice's existence ( other than his alter egos Betty, Mr. Beetleman, and Cousin BJ ).

Lydia's character is portrayed as an upbeat goth girl who likes " weird " things from spiders to sloppy horror movies.

Occasionally, there are other effects from that chant, such as Lydia's room changing to a gothic castle.

However, with Lydia's help, he soon reassembled himself.

When Beetlejuice gets his funny bone back however, he becomes his abnormal self again much to Lydia's delight as she hugs him.
