During the lengthy recording sessions for the next album, which included continuous overdubbing of new instruments by Wood and Lynne, Price left in December 1970 to pursue other projects, including the band Mongrel, although he later rejoined Wood in Wizzard and the short-lived Wizzo Band.

When The Move was still on tour, he founded, together with his band colleagues Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan, the Electric Light Orchestra ( ELO ), which was later to gain major commercial success.
Teen magazine, Go-Set ran a poll in August for pop performers and Gray was voted third in the ' Top Girl Singer ' category behind Lynne Randell and Bev Harrell.

Bevan ( under an agreement with Lynne who co-owned the ELO name with him ) continued on in 1989 as ELO Part II, initially with no other former ELO members except Clark.
Bevan retired from the line-up in 1999 and sold his share of the ELO name to Jeff Lynne in 2000.
