In April 2006 they won the Manx FA Cup for the first time in the club's history, beating Pulrose United 5 – 0 in the final.

They were Isle of Man champions again in 1992 – 93, also winning the Railway Cup and beating St Marys 5 – 0 in the final and were Manx FA Cup finalists, losing 4 – 1 to Castletown.

In the 2005 – 06 season they reached the final of the Manx FA Cup, where they lost 5 – 0 to Laxey on 17 April 2006.

They also won both the Paul Henry Gold Cup, beating St Johns United 2 – 1 in the final and the Woods Cup, beating Union Mills 2 – 0 in the final In 2003 – 04 they won the Manx FA Cup, beating Castletown in the final on penalties.

The original pronunciation is preserved in the names for the city in other languages such as Old English Difelin, Old Norse Dyflin, modern Icelandic Dyflinn and modern Manx Divlyn.

This yielded Irish Cáisc, Gaelic Càisg and Manx Caisht.

Although Irish and Manx are often referred to as Irish Gaelic and Manx Gaelic ( as they are Goidelic or Gaelic languages ), the use of the word Gaelic is unnecessary because the terms Irish and Manx, when referring to language, only ever refer to these languages, whereas Scots has come to refer to a Germanic language, and therefore " Scottish " can refer to things not at all Gaelic.

Other sources parse this as hog-un-naa and give the modern Manx form as Hob dy naa.

Manx dictionaries though give Hop-tu-Naa (), generally glossing it as " Hallowe ' en ", same as many of the more Manx-specific folklore collections.

However, in spite of these recorded Manx forms, no satisfactory etymology has been proposed for Hop-tu-Naa within Goidelic.

Although the Isle of Man is not an integral part of the United Kingdom, its people are British citizens under UK law-there is no separate Manx citizenship.
