There is generally a half hourly service in both directions from Conisbrough railway station between: Doncaster, Conisbrough, Mexborough, Swinton, Rotherham Central, Meadowhall and Sheffield.

Meadowhall is an indoor shopping centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.

Note that Meadowhall Retail Park is a separate development, also owned by British Land, lying to the south of Meadowhall shopping centre in the Carbrook area of the city.

It is similar in concept to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre at Brierley Hill in the West Midlands, which was completed just before Meadowhall.

Meadowhall Interchange to the north of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England is a railway station on the Midland Main Line, a Sheffield Supertram stop, and bus station.

It is close to junction 34 on the M1, and serves Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

Meadowhall is in the same zone as Sheffield station.

Platform 2 is served by Barnsley, Meadowhall, Sheffield and Nottingham trains, Huddersfield trains at 1838 and 1938 call at platform 2, and platform 3 has services towards Streethouse, Featherstone, Pontefract Tanshelf, Pontefract Monkhill and Knottingley.

Shiregreen () is a mainly residential area to the north of the Northern General Hospital and north-west of Meadowhall.

Wincobank () is a suburb of Sheffield, located in the north-east of the city, overlooking the nearby Meadowhall shopping centre and the Tinsley Viaduct.

As of 2010, the section of the walk between Sheffield and Meadowhall has been linked with the parallel Sheffield and Tinsley Canal towpath as an 8 mile circular walk known as The Blue Loop.

The rail links in the area are also good, Worksop lies on the Sheffield-Lincoln line, this takes travellers to places such as Sheffield, Doncaster, Meadowhall, Lincoln, Retford, Gainsborough and Shireoaks.

Southbound there are four trains per hour to Meadowhall and Sheffield, two of which are local stopping services and two of which are express.

In addition to the inner city shopping centres, large UK conurbations will also have large out-of-town " regional malls " such as Meadowhall, Sheffield serving South Yorkshire, the Trafford Centre in Greater Manchester and Bluewater in Kent.

With over 280 stores, Meadowhall was widely blamed for the closure of many shops in Sheffield City Centre and in Rotherham.

The tram route from Meadowhall also passes close by to the Motorpoint Arena, Don Valley Stadium, Ice Sheffield, the Institute Of Sport and the Valley Centertainment entertainment complex.

It runs from Sheffield city centre northwest to Middlewood and Malin Bridge, via the University of Sheffield and Hillsborough ; northeast to Meadowhall, via Attercliffe ; and southeast to Halfway and Herdings Park, via Norfolk Park, Manor, and Gleadless.

The lines, with termini at Meadowhall, Halfway and Hillsborough, all serve Sheffield city centre and meet at Park Square where a triangular junction was constructed to provide interchange between lines and operational flexibility.

From Lady's Bridge in Sheffield City Centre, it heads downstream, northeast, over the Cobweb Bridge, through Attercliffe to Meadowhall.

The flood continued south down the Don into Sheffield centre, around the eastward bend of the Don at Lady's Bridge, then to Attercliffe, past the sites of today's Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield Arena and Meadowhall Shopping Centre and on to Rotherham.

Also, both Wombwell and Goldthorpe railway stations are within easy reach of Darfield where connections can be made to Sheffield, Meadowhall, Wakefield and Leeds.

Leaving Rotherham Central we take the " Holmes Chord ", a single line to Holmes Junction where we take to the rails of the Sheffield & Rotherham company, which opened its line in 1838 and which once served Holmes ( closed in 1955 ), Meadowhall ( a new station opened in 1991 ), Wincobank ( closed 1956 ), Brightside ( closed 1994 ) and Attercliffe Road ( closed 1994 ), before arriving at Sheffield.

Construction started in 1991 and the first section to open was along former heavy rail alignment to Meadowhall on 21 March 1994, shortly after the similar Metrolink scheme in Manchester.

The Middlewood line runs mainly on the street up to the City Centre ; the Meadowhall line runs totally on reserved track – from Attercliffe to Meadowhall it runs on former railway line alongside a freight line to Tinsley Yard and the main line at Rotherham Central.

The Northern Rail services, which currently make just two round trips daily, call at Sheffield, Meadowhall, Rotherham Central, Swinton, Moorthorpe, Pontefract Baghill, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Church Fenton, Ulleskelf ( except on Sundays ) and York.

Currently the station has a half-hourly service on weekdays to Doncaster ( with most trains continuing on to either or Adwick ) and hourly to Wakefield and Leeds, along with three trains per hour to Meadowhall and Sheffield ( one of which continues to Retford and Lincoln ).

Northern Rail operate a semi fast service along the line, with most continuing on to Bridlington / Scarborough, calling at Sheffield, Meadowhall, Doncaster, Goole, Brough, Hull, most of these services also continue fast to Bridlington calling only at Cottingham, Beverley, Driffield and Bridlington.

Locomotives returned to the site on a regular basis between 1988 and 2001 when the South Yorkshire Railway Preservation Society used the few remaining railway lines in the Meadowhall works to load and unload numerous preserved locomotives that were moved by Lorry ( the lines between the buildings were set into the roadway ).
