In general, essential doctrines of Messianic Judaism include views on God ( that he is omnipotent, omnipresent, eternal, outside creation, infinitely significant and benevolent — viewpoints on the Trinity vary ), Jesus ( who is believed to be the Jewish Messiah, though views on his divinity vary ), written Torah ( with a few exceptions, Messianic Jews believe that Jesus taught and reaffirmed the Torah and that it remains fully in force ), Israel ( the Children of Israel are central to God's plan ; replacement theology is opposed ), the Bible ( Tanakh and the New Testament are usually considered the divinely inspired Scripture, though Messianic Judaism is more open to criticism of the New Testament canon than is Christianity ), eschatology ( sometimes similar to many evangelical Christian views ), and oral law ( See also Christian Oral Tradition-observance varies, but most deem these traditions subservient to the written Torah ).

The pinnacle of the oratorio is found in George Frideric Handel's works, notably Messiah and Israel in Egypt.

Some of the alto parts of Handel's Messiah were first sung by a castrato.

The peak of its season is the Lincoln Christmas Market, accompanied by a massive annual production of Handel's Messiah.

In 1940 he made a legendary recording of the tenor arias from Handel's Messiah.

Either Gluck or Lobkowitz bought a copy of Handel's Messiah.

Since its first recording in 1910, the choir has earned five gold albums ( two in 1963-The Lord's Prayer and Handel's Messiah, one in 1979-The Joy of Christmas, and two in 1985-The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Sings Christmas Carols and Joy to the World ) and two platinum albums ( in 1991-Hallmark Christmas: Carols of Christmas and 1992-Hallmark Christmas: Celebrate Christmas !).

He conducted two complete performances of Handel's Messiah, a rare event at the time.

But an event occurred that provided him with a scenario ideally fitted to his conception of a work both contemporary and in the grand choral tradition of Bach's Passions and Handel's Messiah.

The first published score of Messiah was issued in 1767, eight years after Handel's death, though this was based on relatively early manuscripts and included none of Handel's later revisions.

He organised a second performance of Messiah on 3 June, which was announced as " the last Performance of Mr Handel's during his Stay in this Kingdom ".

In this second Messiah, which was for Handel's private benefit, Cibber reprised her role from the first performance, though Avoglio may have been replaced by a Mrs Maclaine ; details of other performers are not recorded.

The 1749 revival at Covent Garden, under the proper title of Messiah, saw the appearance of two female soloists who would henceforth be closely associated with Handel's music: Giulia Frasi and Caterina Galli.

Schweitzer, however, writes: " The Jesus of Nazareth who came forward publicly as the Messiah, who preached the ethic of the kingdom of God, who founded the kingdom of heaven upon earth and died to give his work its final consecration never existed.

The effort of writing so much music in so short a time was not unusual for Handel and his contemporaries ; Handel commenced his next oratorio, Samson, within a week of finishing Messiah, and completed his draft of this new work in a month.

The warm reception accorded to Messiah in Dublin was not repeated in London when Handel introduced the work at the Covent Garden theatre on 23 March 1743.

In an attempt to deflect such sensibilities, in London Handel had avoided the name Messiah and presented the work as the " New Sacred Oratorio ".

London's initially cool reception of Messiah led Handel to reduce the season's planned six performances to three, and not to present the work at all in 1744 — to the considerable annoyance of Jennens, whose relations with the composer temporarily soured.

At the end of the century, Sir Frederick Bridge and T. W. Bourne pioneered revivals of Messiah in Handel's orchestration, and Bourne's work was the basis for further scholarly versions in the early 20th century.

While this is not completely certain, Theses is clearly one of his last works, and the final paragraph, about the Jewish quest for the Messiah provides a harrowing final point to Benjamin's work, with its themes of culture, destruction, Jewish heritage and the fight between humanity and nihilism.

Tim Sköld ( Swedish: sköld meaning shield ) born December 14, 1966, in Skövde, Sweden ) is a multi-instrumentalist who, in addition to producing solo work, has also collaborated with multiple musical groups including Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM and Marilyn Manson.

During the final two decades of his work at Messiah, up to the age of 104, he worked on experiments involving adsorption of toxic metals by plant material and the use of living plants for purifying the environment ( phytoremediation ).
