The Metal Men co-starred with other DC heroes such as Atom, Metamorpho and Batman in The Brave and the Bold # 55 ( Sept. 1964 ), # 66 ( July 1966 ), # 74 ( Nov. 1967 ), # 103 ( Nov. 1972 ), # 113 ( July 1974 ), # 121 ( Sept. 1975 ), # 135-136 ( July-Sept. 1977 ) and # 187 ( June 1982 ).

The other members were two characters who refused membership in the Justice League ( Black Lightning and Metamorpho ) and former Leaguer Batman.

Veteran heroes Batman, Metamorpho, and Black Lightning joined forces with Geo-Force and two other new heroes, Katana and Halo.

This group, brought together to help the Justice League of America and the other major heroes and teams of the sixties to battle the menace of Agamemno, consisted of: Adam Strange, Batgirl, Blackhawk, Deadman, Mento, Metamorpho, and a new Shining Knight.

The character of Blaze is completely removed from the origin story, and Adam's rage is described as having resulted from the conquering of Kahndaq ( and the murder of his wife and children ) at the hands of a magically powered supervillain named Ahk-ton ( whose powers resemble future hero Metamorpho ), who is working with the notorious DC immortal Vandal Savage.

In 1975 Metamorpho appeared in 1st Issue Special # 3, a brief series consisting of one-shots of new and established DC comics characters.

As part of a Wednesday Comics, Neil Gaiman wrote a twelve-page Metamorpho story that Mike Allred illustrated.

With Canary's help, he became Metamorpho again and managed to return the others to their normal forms.

In this appearance he is a sadist who kidnaps the group of teenage heroes known as the Outsiders ( Black Lightning, Katana, and Metamorpho ) and feeds off their rage caused by twisted nightmares.

Metamorpho also appeared during this time in two issues of Justice League of America (# 42 & # 44 ), but became the second superhero to decline an invitation to join that organization ( Adam Strange being the first ).

Shortly thereafter, an accident with one of Simon Stagg's experiments turned Simon, Sapphire, and Joey into an energy being, and caused Metamorpho to take on the form and personality of Java.

In Justice League Unlimited, Parasite first appears in " Clash ", where he defeats and absorbs the powers of Elongated Man and Metamorpho, and briefly battles Batman before being taken down by Captain Marvel.

Metamorpho reappears years later in Action # 413, in a new back-up series, with no reference to the last 2 issues of his regular series, or to any characters or incidents in those issues.

After seeing him in action with Metamorpho, however, Batman decides against his induction.

Metamorpho, Green Arrow, Zauriel, and Hal Jordan come with him.

** In " Clash ," his powers are stolen by Parasite, who uses them to nearly defeat Metamorpho and Batman before the timely intervention of Captain Marvel.

On Metamorpho: Year One, Jurgens was writer and penciller for the first two issues with Mike Norton drawing issues 3 – 6.
