The sketch portrays a conflict between disgruntled customer Mr Praline ( played by Cleese ) and a shopkeeper ( Michael Palin ), who hold contradictory positions on the vital state of a " Norwegian Blue " parrot.

Mr Praline enters the pet shop to register a complaint about the dead Norwegian Blue parrot just as the shopkeeper is preparing to close the establishment for lunch.

: Mr Praline: ( looks completely flabbergasted ) Well, you can't say Thatcher hasn't changed some things.

: Mr Praline: I thought you'd never ask.

In this sketch, Mr. Milton, the owner of the Whizzo Chocolate Company ( Terry Jones ) is approached by two members of the " Hygiene Squad ", Inspector Praline ( John Cleese ) and Superintendent Parrot ( Graham Chapman ), who confront him about the odd flavors that are used in the Whizzo Quality Assortment, accusing him of violating the Trade Descriptions Act through inadequate descriptions of his products, like for instance, his Crunchy Frog.

# Dead Parrot: Perhaps Monty Python's most famous sketch, Mr. Praline ( Cleese ) attempts to get a refund for his deceased parrot, but the shopkeeper ( Palin ) refuses to acknowledge the parrot's passing on.

Mr Eric Praline is a fictional character from the television show Monty Python's Flying Circus, played by comedian John Cleese.

Along with Terry Jones / Gilliam ' nude organist, Michael Palin's " It's " man, the Gumbys and Graham Chapman's Colonel, Mr Praline was one of the few deemed popular and useful enough for multiple appearances.

Robert Ross ' Monty Python Encyclopedia notes that Mr Praline has become a beloved figure within the Python canon.

The 2006 book The Best British Stand-Up and Comedy Routines describes the disgruntled Mr Praline as " all plastered down hair and plastic raincoat ".

In addition to his three directing wins, Capra received directing nominations for three other films ( Lady for a Day, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and It's a Wonderful Life ).

Although It's a Wonderful Life is his most well-known film, Friedman notes that it was Mr. Smith Goes to Washington ( 1939 ) which most represented the " Capra myth.

Knud Olson Bergo, who was living just across the town line in Spring Grove, on getting up one morning, saw that a fire had swept over the prairie in the south part of the town ... It's charred appearance at once suggested to his mind a certain bluff located in Slidre Valders, Norway, which was Mr. Bergo's birthplace, and so he exclaiming in Norwegian, " Sort Hammer ," which signifies Black Bluff, and the people have had the good sense to retain the name to this day, which, it will be perceived, is composed of an English and a Norwegian word.

In 1985 it was reported that Rubin said about the bombing of the home of revisionist historian Dr. George Ashley, " It's too bad that Mr. Ashley wasn't blown up " and " I applaud those who took such actions.

When asked in a PBS Kids interview to name his idols, he responded, " When people ask me what three people I ’ d like to have dinner with, living or dead, I say Jesus Christ, Mr. Rogers, and Jimmy Carter.

In the 1941 film Here Comes Mr. Jordan it is the character Joe Pendelton ’ s inability to play “ The Last Rose of Summer ” on his saxophone anything other than badly which allows him to prove that he is alive in another man ’ s body ; all the other characters think he is the dead man from whom he got the body, but when he plays the sax for his old boxing manager, he uses the same wrong note in the melody as he always did, and which thus confirms his story of coming back from the after-life.

* " Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood ": at the New Jersey FBI office where Skip Lipari is playing tapes of Bonpensiero attempting to elicit information from Tony about the murder of Matthew Bevilaqua, and the FBI has accepted that Bonpensiero is presumably dead, with Lipari saying " I think it's time to declare CW-16 ( Pussy ) compost " and his picture being removed from the Soprano family's organization chart and thrown in the garbage.

The prophecy may also refer to " the eye that does not see " as being the jewel known as the " eye " in Signs and Portents but more importantly in Interludes and Examinations and killing the one who is already dead may refer to the death of Mr. Morden, executed on Mollari's orders in season 4, or to Mollari's treatment of the Emperor's last wishes in The Coming of Shadows.

He informs Captain Sheridan, Commander Ivanova, and Mr. Garibaldi that General Hague is dead.

The dead return for one night during a mysterious Brakiri religious festival: Garibaldi is visited by a ground pounder, Dodger, with whom he almost had a romantic fling three years ago ( see Gropos ), Londo cherishes a night with his lost love Adira Tyree ( see Interludes and Examinations ), Lennier tolerates the Shadows ' associate Mr. Morden, and Captain Lochley is visited by her friend for whose death she feels responsible.
