A paranoid G ' Kar first suspects his new diplomatic attache, Na ' Toth, but learns too late that the true assassin is the courier himself, the Thenta Makur member Tu ' Pari.

After being subjected to a brief torture session, Na ' Toth intervenes, beating G ' Kar in order to appear allied with Tu ' Pari, but in actuality, deactivating the torture-inducing binds.

Since the guild penalty for that is death, G ' Kar and Na ' Toth encourage him to flee.

On Centauri Prime, G ' Kar discovers that Na ' Toth is in the cells, she has been left there since the days of the previous emperor and is aghast that she was simply forgotten.

Knowing that they do not have the political support to simply release Na ' Toth, G ' Kar and Londo free her and work on a plan to get her back to Narn.

Londo gets Na ' Toth onto a transport ship by dressing her as a Centauri, and escorting her whilst pretending to be drunk.

Na ' Toth is transferred to a Narn ship, and returns successfully, although deeply traumatised.
