Nasrallah became the leader of Hezbollah after the Israelis assassinated the previous leader, Musawi in 1992.

Al Musawi was succeeded as Secretary General of Hezbollah by Hassan Nasrallah.

In his speech Nasrallah blasted UN Security-Council Resolution 1559, which calls for Hezbollah's militia to be disbanded, as foreign intervention.

Hasan Nasrallah was born the ninth of ten children in Bourj Hammoud, Matn District ( an eastern suburb of Beirut ) on August 31, 1960.
