New York's Suicide, L. A .' s The Screamers and Nervous Gender, Australia's JAB, and Germany's DAF were pioneers of synthpunk.

Inspired by openly gay punk musicians of an earlier generation such as Jayne County, Phranc, Darby Crash and Randy Turner, and bands like Nervous Gender, The Screamers, and Coil, queercore embraces a variety of punk and other alternative music styles.

After the Germs ended Don Bolles played with several other L. A. bands, including Steaming Coils, Celebrity Skin, Vox Pop, Nervous Gender and 45 Grave.

At this time they recorded the tracks for the compilation Live At Target, released as an LP and a video, both seminal not only in the punk scene but also as early industrial recordings ; fellow contributors Factrix and Z ' EV ( listed on this recording as " UNS ") were early industrial acts, and Nervous Gender found more acceptance among that scene initially.

Nervous Gender played with bands such as SPK, Factrix, Non, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Psychic TV during the early 1980s.

Nervous Gender did not record in the studio again.

During their career Nervous Gender was called by one critic, "... the thorn in the side of the L. A. music scene ...".

It was at this point that a guitar-driven version of Nervous Gender emerged.

In early 1990, original members Gerardo Velasquez and Michael Ochoa along with Joe Zinnato ( a long time Ochoa collaborator ) revived Nervous Gender as a trio.

This formation did a series of 8 performances, and were working on what would have been the final Nervous Gender album ( working title " American Regime ") with producer Paul Cutler ( of 45 Grave ).

The final performance of Nervous Gender was on August 26, 1991 at Club A. S. S.

As of 2005, Edward Stapleton, Michael Ochoa and Joe Zinnato were reviewing all of the Nervous Gender material ( studio, live and rehearsal recordings and performance videos ) with an eye towards releasing a NG retospective.

Originally perceived as a poppy, keyboard-driven emo band with the release of their debut album Designing A Nervous Breakdown in 2000, they developed a stronger, classic rock influenced sound with the release of a split CD with Superdrag in 2001 and their second full length, 2002 ’ s Your Majesty.

In March 2008, Wackerman joined Korn guitarist James " Munky " Shaffer's newest solo project, experimental industrial rock band Fear and the Nervous System, alongside vocalist Steve Krolikowski ( Repeater ), Billy Gould ( Faith No More ), Leopold Ross ( Error ), and Zac Baird ( Korn, Billy Goat ).

Three years after forming, the band signed to the fledgling British rockabilly record label Nervous Records, and released the single " Rockabilly Guy " in 1979.

The members of the band were Scott Morschhauser ( vocals, accordion, guitar, percussion ); Barry " The Wolfman " Wolf ( accordion ); " Nervous " Neal Smith ( saxophones, backup vocals, flute, clarinet ); and the late " Mr ." Joel Dick ( drums, percussion ).

The band confirmed this on July 3, 2009 on their MySpace blog, saying that Brian Karscig had left the band to start The Nervous Wreckords.

The band sent demos to Nervous Records, an influential psychobilly label, but were rejected.

After the tour, the band was finally signed by Nervous Records to record the first album.

Rob Ritter also joined The Gun Club, and appears on their first LP Fire Of Love, but left to change his name to Rob Graves and form the seminal death rock band 45 Grave, with Dinah Cancer, Don Bolles, previously of The Germs and Nervous Gender, Paul Roessler of The Screamers and Nervous Gender and Paul Cutler.
