The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod ( LCMS ) and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod ( WELS ), the second and third largest Lutheran bodies in the United States and the two largest Confessional Lutheran bodies in North America, do not have a bishop as the head of the church or middle jurisdiction, practicing a form of congregationalism similar to the United Church of Christ.

He suggested that it was not a papal banner to the King but a papal banner to the Churchly legate in the North, more specifically to archbishop Andreas Sunesøn, which he – without the knowledge of the King – brought with him on the King's crusade in the Baltic countries, in an effort to make the army take on a Christian symbol ( over the king's symbol ) and thereby strengthen the power of the church.

* 1900 – Boxer Rebellion: The Governor of Shanxi province in North China orders the execution of 45 foreign Christian missionaries and local church members, including children.

Next year, H. G. Apenzeller from North Methodist church, who arrived 5 April 1885, started to evangelize with Dr. Scranton and his mother.

North Parma serves the farming congregation to the north and the " Plain Parma " church serves the village congregation.

After a period as chaplain to Henry Hastings, Earl of Huntingdon, President of the North, he became vicar of St Giles's, Cripplegate in 1588 and there delivered striking sermons on the temptation in the wilderness and the Lord's Prayer.
