Sykes ; sculptor Olin Levi Warner ; Seth Pease, surveyor of the Western Reserve lands in Ohio, most of which were controlled by Suffield financiers and speculators ; and Thaddeus Leavitt, inventor of an early cotton gin, merchant and patentee of the Western Reserve lands.

Among his students were Jules Dalou, Jean-Louis Forain and the American sculptor Olin Levi Warner.

Olin Levi Warner ( April 9, 1844 – August 14, 1896 ) was an American sculptor and artist noted for the striking bas relief portrait medallions and busts he created in the late 19th century.

He later served as an assistant to Charles Niehaus, Olin Warner, and Daniel Chester French.

Some of his mentors included Peter Walker, affiliated with the team involved in the World Trade Center Memorial project ; Richard Haag, famous for his Gas Works Park project in Seattle ; and Laurie Olin who, in the 1980s, served as the head chair of the landscape architecture program at Harvard University.

The Council of Olin Representatives ( CORe ) is a group that focuses exclusively on representing student views and serving as an advocate to the administration.

A farmer and machine shop owner from Olin, he served six terms in the North Carolina General Assembly, representing North Carolina's ninety-sixth House district, including constituents in Iredell county.

Olin Hall contains a 320-seat lecture hall, a 63-seat tieredclassroom, a 42-seat tiered classroom, a Writing Center, eight traditional classrooms and four seminar rooms.

The main library, Olin Library, is centrally located on the Danforth Campus.

Part of main campus of Olin College, a private engineering school, is located in Wellesley, although its main entrance is located in Needham.

Olin was also a main cast member in the second season ( and a recurring guest star in later seasons ) of successful TV series Alias.

From 1938 to 1997, the Olin Foundation distributed grants for 78 buildings at 58 institutions, including F. W. Olin Hall at the University of Denver and the Olin Fine Arts Center at Washington and Jefferson College.

New facilities for the sciences included the renovation of the Olin Science Building, the construction of the Rooke Chemistry Building in 1990 and the completion of a new Biology Building in 1991.

In 2005, the Center was renamed the Brookings Center for Executive Education ( BCEE ), which was shortened to Brookings Executive Education ( BEE ) with the launch of a partnership with the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.

He then returned to Washington University, where he founded the Center for the History of Freedom, and was named John M. Olin Professor Emeritus of the History of Freedom at Washington University, retiring in 1990.

In July 2011 he was appointed Spencer T. Olin Professor of Biology at Washington University in St. Louis.

Three special collections at Olin Library, Washington University in St. Louis, include a selection of Lehmann's legal papers ( including his time as Solicitor General ), a collection of historic manuscript letters of notable people, and rare editions of works of Robert Burns and others.
