A treaty was made whereby Ben-hadad restored the cities which his father had taken from Ahab's father ( that is, Omri, but see 15: 20, 2 Kings 13: 25 ), and trading facilities between Damascus and Samaria were granted.

* Second Kings 8: 26, and its parallel passage in 2 Chronicles 22: 2, say that Jehoram of Judah married a " daughter " of Omri, Ahab's father.

Little Bear and his tribe escape and start the trek to Canada but Omri and his father are forgotten in the rush.

The existence of the Kingdom of Moab is attested to by numerous archeological findings, most notably the Mesha Stele, which describes the Moabite victory over an unnamed son of King Omri of Israel.

At this time Israel was apparently engaged in a three-way contest with Damascus and Tyre for control of the Jezreel Valley and Galilee in the north, and with Moab, Ammon and Damascus in the east for control of Gilead ; the Mesha stele ( c. 830 ), left by a king of Moab, celebrates his success in throwing off the oppression of the " House of Omri " ( i. e. Israel ).

He was significant enough that his name is mentioned on a stele erected by Mesha, king of Moab, who records his victory over a son of Omri — but omits the son's name.
