John Milton ( 1608 – 1674 ) wrote a textbook in logic or dialectic in Latin based on Ramus ' work, which has now been translated into English by Walter J. Ong and Charles J. Ermatinger in The Complete Prose Works of John Milton ( Yale University Press, 1982 ; 8: 206-407 ), with a lengthy introduction by Ong ( 144-205 ).

Ong, though, consistently argues that Ramus is thin, insubstantial as a scholar, a beneficiary of fashion supported by the new medium of printing, as well as a transitional figure.

One of the champions of the project, Ong Teng Cheong, who later became the first democratically-elected President, declared ,"… the MRT will usher in a new phase in Singapore's development and bring about a better life for all of us.

A more recent book is, Buddha Is Hiding written by Aiwha Ong, an ethnographic study that tells the story of Khmer Americans and their experiences of American citizenship.

The book tells of the adventures of Dr. Michael Ong, a paranormal scientist and former seminarian, who is given a head researcher's position at an Area 51-esque laboratory in Turlock, California called Research Technical Institute.
