High-Speed Downlink Packet Access ( HSDPA, also known as High-Speed Data Packet Access ) is 3G ( third generation ) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access ( HSPA ) family, also dubbed, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System ( UMTS ) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity.
The operator currently operates 3GPP Long Term Evolution ( LTE ), High Speed Packet Access ( HSPA ) and GSM networks in Canada.
Such " dual ring " networks include Spatial Reuse Protocol, Fiber Distributed Data Interface ( FDDI ), and Resilient Packet Ring.
Resilient Packet Ring ( RPR ), also known as IEEE 802. 17, is a standard designed for the optimized transport of data traffic over optical fiber ring networks.
It is similar in function to the Packet Assembler / Disassemblers used on X. 25 networks, with the addition of a modem to convert baseband digital signals to audio tones.
