The Areopagus, the " mount of Ares " where Paul of Tarsus preached, is sited at some distance from the Acropolis ; from archaic times it was a site of trials.

Acts tells the story of the Apostolic Age of the Early Christian church, with particular emphasis on the ministry of the Twelve Apostles and of Paul of Tarsus.

Paul of Tarsus, also known as Saul, is the main character of the second half of Acts.

He found the work so extensive and weighty that he went to Tarsus in search of Paul, " an admirable colleague ", to assist him.

Paul of Tarsus, like Jews and Roman pagans of his time, believed that sacrifice can bring about new kinship ties, purity, and eternal life.

Eschatology is an ancient branch of study in Christian theology, presumably starting with the Olivet discourse, The Sheep and the Goats, and other discourses of end times by Jesus, with the doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ first touched on by Paul of Tarsus and Ignatius of Antioch ( c. 35 – 107 AD ), then given more consideration by the Christian apologist, Justin Martyr ( c. 100 – 165 ).

According to tradition, Saul / Paul of Tarsus wrote this letter while he was in prison in Rome ( around AD 62 ).

It is a letter from Paul of Tarsus to a number of Early Christian communities in the Roman province of Galatia in central Anatolia.

The South Galatian view holds that Paul wrote Galatians before or shortly after the First Jerusalem Council, probably on his way to it, and that it was written to churches he had presumably planted during either his time in Tarsus ( he would have traveled a short distance, since Tarsus is in Cilicia ) after his first visit to Jerusalem as a Christian, or during his first missionary journey, when he traveled throughout southern Galatia.

* Paul of Tarsus and Judaism

Most New Testament scholars believe Paul of Tarsus wrote this letter from Corinth, although information appended to this work in many early manuscripts ( e. g., Codices Alexandrinus, Mosquensis, and Angelicus ) state that Paul wrote it in Athens after Timothy had returned from Macedonia with news of the state of the church in Thessalonica (; ).

While these epistles are traditionally attributed to Paul of Tarsus, there are a few scholars who consider them pseudepigraphical.

Paul's Epistle ( or Letter ) to Philemon, usually referred to simply as Philemon, is a prison letter to Philemon from Paul of Tarsus.
