In addition to Porky Pig, Warner Bros. cartoon characters Daffy Duck ( who debuted in the 1937 short Porky's Duck Hunt ) and Bugs Bunny ( who debuted in the 1940 short A Wild Hare ) also achieved star power.

The ensemble characters of I Haven't Got a Hat, such as Oliver Owl, and twin dogs Ham and Ex, were also given a sampling of shorts, but demand for these characters was far exceeded by Beans and Porky ; Beans himself was later phased out due to declining popularity, leaving Porky as the only star of the Schlesinger studio.

Bugs Bunny made a cameo appearance in 1942 in the Avery / Clampett cartoon Crazy Cruise and also at the end of the Frank Tashlin 1943 cartoon Porky Pig's Feat which marked Bugs ' only appearance in a black-and-white Looney Tunes short.

Jones also paired Porky with Sylvester in a series of cartoons in the late 1940s and early 1950s, in which Porky plays the curmudgeonly owner of the cat and remains clueless that Sylvester is constantly saving him from homicidal mice, space aliens, and other threats.

Porky also appeared in all the classic film-feature compilations in the 1970s and 1980s.

Porky also made cameos on Animaniacs and Histeria.

Porky Pig also appears as the " Eager Young Space Cadet " in the animated television series Duck Dodgers.

Porky had a descendent in Loonatics Unleashed named Pinkster Pig ( who was also voiced by Bob Bergen ), an old friend of Danger Duck ( who was Daffy Duck's Descendant ).

A Sesame Street cartoon featuring a lost bicycle-riding boy and a yo-yo master who reminds the boy to " try to remember everything you passed / But when you go back, make the first thing the last " might possibly have also been somewhat inspired by Porky in Wackyland.

He also does the Looney Tunes ending instead of Porky Pig or Bugs Bunny.

Because of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, the Schlesinger studio now had risen to new heights, and Bugs quickly also became the star of the color cartoons Merrie Melodies, which had previously been used for one-shot character appearances.

Joey D. Vieira, also known as Donald Keeler, is best remembered for portraying chubby, beanie-wearing farm boy, Sylvester " Porky " Brockway on TV's Lassie ( retitled Jeff's Collie in syndicated reruns and on DVD ) from 1954-57.

Arnold was also bullied by other children at school — where he was known as " Bonehead " and his best " friend ", Porky Roebuck, once spearheaded a plan to eat him during a Space Scouts survival course.

That year, she also appeared in the final shot of the ending scene of Disney's Who Framed Roger Rabbit, along with Porky Pig ; sprinkling fairy dust on the screen after Porky's trademark farewell as it goes black prior to the closing credits.

The song has naturally also made its way into screen shorts for children and adults, as in the 1954 Looney Tunes cartoon, Claws for Alarm, in which it is sung by Porky Pig.

" Porky eventually turns the Devil's Machine off, thereby destroying Giygas ' body and mind by releasing his excessive power, and also driving him mad.

The show has also featured baby versions of Elmer Fudd ( though Elmer has appeared in an episode as slightly older than the others and as a bully, obviously as a reference to the adult version always hunting the adult version of Bugs Bunny ), Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn, Pepe Le Pew, and Marvin the Martian in musical segments between stories.

This was also the only entry in the trilogy in which Porky Pig does eventually realise the danger they are in.

Both also co-starred ( with Daffy Duck, which has a sped-up version of Sylvester's voice, including the lisp ) in The Scarlet Pumpernickel ( the only other time Sylvester spoke in a Porky Pig cartoon ).

The 2002-2003 Season also launched a naughty late night series in Tallulah's Cabaret dubbed the Friday Superstar Series, featuring the outrageous, ultra-queer talents of such folks as Sasha Van Bon Bon, Kitty Neptune, R. Kelly Clipperton, Pretty Porky and Pissed Off, Will Munro, Kids on TV, and Buddies ' resident trannypunk Josh Schwebel.

In the 1942 cartoon, Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid, Bugs Bunny half-mutters the song, changing the lyrics to, " My mamma done told me, a buzzard is two face ..." The melody is also heard in Porky Pig's Feat, Early to Bet, The Hypo-Chondri-Cat, and others.

Friz Freleng also adapted the tale in his Warner Bros. cartoon Porky's Bear Facts in which Porky Pig works hard while his lazy neighbor refuses to do anything, only to suffer during winter.

Nonetheless it appeared in the 1944 Warner Bros. cartoon Tom Turk and Daffy, uttered by a Thanksgiving turkey whose presence is betrayed to Porky Pig by Daffy Duck.

Porky appeared in a toddler version in Baby Looney Tunes, only in the songs.

Porky Pig has appeared in multiple episodes of The Looney Tunes Show, voiced by Bob Bergen.

Porky appeared in the movie Space Jam and collaborates with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Sylvester in challenging the Nerdlucks to a basketball game.

In 1944, the studio went to an all-color schedule ; though for the first year of this, Bugs still appeared mainly in the Merrie Melodies series ( not appearing in a Looney Tunes cartoon until the end of August ), whereas Daffy Duck and Porky Pig ( who each appeared in a few Merrie Melodies prior to mid-1942 ) appeared mainly in Looney Tunes that year.

In 1941, Maltese was hired by Leon Schlesinger Productions, which three years later became Warner Bros. Cartoons, Inc. ( Maltese had actually appeared on camera in a 1940 Porky Pig cartoon as a live-action guard at the Warner Brothers entrance gate, who winds up chasing the animated Porky around the Warners lot ; the short is entitled You Ought to Be in Pictures and was directed by Friz Freleng ).

Porky appeared in forty-two Our Gang comedies over four years.

Allegedly, when Tweety's creator, director Bob Clampett, left the Warner Bros. studio in 1946, he was working on a fourth film starring Tweety, whom he would pair with Friz Freleng ’ s Sylvester, who previously appeared with Porky Pig in his cartoon Kitty Kornered ( released in 1946 ).

Jones co-directed 1969's The Pogo Special Birthday Special, based on the Walt Kelly comic strip, and voiced the characters of Porky Pine and Bun Rab.

Daffy was # 14 on TV Guide's list of top 50 best cartoon characters and was featured on one of the issue's four covers as Duck Dodgers with Porky Pig and the Powerpuff Girls ( all of which are Time Warner-owned characters ).

This principle is perhaps best demonstrated in Porky in Wackyland, a film that sends Porky on a quest to find the last of the Dodos.

Porky was ranked number 47 on TV Guides list of top 50 cartoon characters.

At another point, the do-do appears on the Warner Brothers shield logo and slingshots Porky into the ground.

The Do-Do comes from behind the shield to bop Porky on the head and we see the shield immediately turn to return to the horizon with the bird riding it there ( with, consequently, the boing sound played in reverse ).

In Porky in Wackyland, we see the creature playing that part of the William Tell Overture on his nose, then starting the jazz tune.

** In Porky in Wackyland, after the angry criminal yells for a while, a short policeman on a wheel appears and clangs the criminal on the head with an oversized nightstick.

When he stops rolling, Porky lands on the ground, and he " toot-toots " like a train, before running away.

Porky covers his head, panicked, until a parachute appears on the brick.

Porky laughs in relief, until the brick releases a double, landing on Porky's head with a clang.

In Porky in Wackyland, when Porky pokes his head out of the pile of bricks a brick drops on his head, then he cries.

Clampett submitted a drawing of a pig ( Porky ) and a black cat ( Beans ), and, in an imitation of the lettering on a can of Campbell's Pork and Beans, wrote " Clampett's Porky and Beans.
