In June 2010, responding to the passage of Arizona SB 1070, he released the single " Quicksand ", which tells the story of Mexicans attempting to emigrate to Arizona through the desert.

Among the singles released that became signature hits for the group are " Quicksand ", " In My Lonely Room ", " Live Wire ", " Nowhere to Run ", " A Love Like Yours ( Don't Come Knocking Everyday )", " I'm Ready for Love ", " Jimmy Mack ", " Honey Chile " and the group's most popular single, " Dancing in the Street ".

The third and final album by this line-up, Shake Me Up ( 1991 ) was released on Morgan Creek as was the soundtrack of the 1992 film White Sands, which contained one song by Little Feat called Quicksand and Lies but this label folded soon afterwards and Little Feat were moving from one label to another until the establishment of Hot Tomato Records in 2002.

The album also featured two tracks that were re-recorded from the " Quicksand " EP (" Omission " and " Unfulfilled ").

The label is known for its role in the evolution of hardcore and metallic post-hardcore with important releases by bands such as Youth of Today, Warzone, Sick of It All, Quicksand, Side By Side, Chain of Strength, Shelter, Judge, No For An Answer, and End of a Year.

John Porcelly went on to tour and record with Hare Krishna hardcore band Shelter ( featuring Ray Cappo of Youth Of Today, as well as a revolving line-up of more and less well-known hardcore musicians, including Tom Capone of Bold and Quicksand, and Vic DiCara of Beyond, Inside Out, and 108 ).

The late 80s and early 90s saw the formation and rise to prominence of several bands associated with earlier acts that not only included the examples of Fugazi and Shellac, but also Girls Against Boys ( originally a side-project of Brendan Canty and Eli Janney, which would later incorporate members of Soulside ), The Jesus Lizard ( formed by ex-members of Scratch Acid ), Quicksand ( fronted by former Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits member Walter Schreifels ), Rollins Band ( led by former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins ), Tar ( which raised from the ashes of a hardcore outfit named Blatant Dissent ), and Slint ( containing members of Squirrel Bait ).

After the band Quicksand had signed to a major label, Schreifels re-united a late version of his former band, wrote a record and produced it, resulting in Set Your Goals.

He has also appeared in Shelter, and major label rock band Rival Schools, featuring Walter Schreifels ( also of Gorilla Biscuits, as well as Quicksand and several other bands ).

On 10 June 2012, Quicksand was the unannounced " special guest " on the fourth night of the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary Shows at The Glass House in Pomona, California.

The first work consisted of the construction of a vast concrete-raft to serve as the buildings foundation, after the foundations had been dug by hand, 70, 000 cubic yards of concrete were laid, the site of the Victoria Tower was found to be of Quicksand, necessitating the use of piles.

A significant recording came in 1999 working with Don Fury ( Quicksand, Snapcase, Orange 9mm, The Hearing Aides ), showcasing songs that appeared on their debut LP Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence.

* Walter Schreifels, who played guitar and wrote most of the songs for Gorilla Biscuits, went on to be the frontman in Quicksand, one of the most influential post-hardcore bands.

A 4-track EP, entitled It Overtakes Me, was released later in the UK that year.

One of the songs, the euro-house influenced " You Give Me Everything ", produced by Daniel Schubert and Daniel Gonschorek, was released in 1995 as a 4-track single.

The 3-piece released the 4-track Long Distance Runner EP in May 2007 and their third full length album Local Kid on 29 September 2008.

The first demo was recorded on a 4-track in April in his mother's attic but this has never been mixed, released, or heard by anyone outside of the band members themselves.

To hold fans over, The Rocket Summer released a digital 4-track EP entitled You Gotta Believe in October 2009.

Music was released on 4-track tape for automobile enjoyment and later for home use.

Using these songs and three others recorded at home on a 4-track Tears for the Dying released its first demo CD, E. P ..

The band released a seven song limited edition demo CD at the show which had been recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder during a time when the group was recording cover songs for fun.

Later the Flameboy Records ( owned by Jake Williams, former RS keyboard player ) released a 4-track vinyl called " RedOne ", which included three tracks from Redone and a previously unreleased Red Snapper track entitled " Drill " featuring MC Det.

With this line-up they released a 4-track demo, The Past, in 1994.

There hasn't been proof either way to show if this song released to retail as a single or not ; however numerous 1-track promotional-only copies exist as well as 4-track pressings from Germany and Australia that were apparently intended for retail.

Delta Recordings, a label from London, UK, released a 4-track 12 " vinyl sampler of these tracks in early 2004.
