The ten lines are the East Rail, Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, Island, Tung Chung, Tseung Kwan O, West Rail, Ma On Shan, the Airport Express and the Disneyland Resort lines.

A new high-speed service, namely the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, is being built.

Also, National Express East Anglia named a British Rail Class 153 ( unit number 153335 ) after him.

There are some scheduled passenger services on their own privately managed, non-Network Rail lines, for example Heathrow Express which also partly runs on Network Rail and the London Underground also overlaps with Network Rail in places.

Heathrow Express and Eurostar are also not part of the National Rail network despite sharing of stations and routes ( Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect only ).

The company was created in 1996 in the merger of Daimler-Benz's and ABB's rail equipment manufacturing facilities, in 1999, DaimlerChrysler ( now Daimler AG ) bought ABB's shares and changed its official name to DaimlerChrysler Rail Systems.

Both brands have been discontinued after the take over of DaimlerChrysler Rail Systems by Bombardier.

In 2006 trials of the new Westinghouse Rail Systems Westlock Interlocking commenced, which replaced the old SSI completely in 2008.
