The Hues Corporation's 1974 " Rock the Boat ", a U. S. # 1 single and million-seller, was one of the early disco songs to hit # 1.

Several songs from the album received regular airplay on major North American rock stations, with Hatfield's song " My Sister " becoming the biggest hit of her career, with a # 1 placing on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, and the video becoming an MTV staple.

His second album, 1986's The Secret Value of Daydreaming was panned by critics, but reached number 32 on the Billboard Magazines album chart, and produced the single " Stick Around ", which was his first # 1 single on the U. S. Album Rock Tracks chart.

Lennon never reached the same level of success in the U. S. post-Valotte, but he hit number five in Australia with the 1989 single " Now You're In Heaven ", which also gave him his second # 1 hit on the Album Rock Tracks chart in the USA.

Two Elvis Presley records made the R & B top five in 1957: " Jailhouse Rock "/" Treat Me Nice " at # 1, and " All Shook Up " at # 5, an unprecedented acceptance of a non-African American artist into a music category known for being created by blacks.

The album produced only one, and at this time the last, Billboard Hot 100 single, " Love Is a Rock " at # 66.

In June 1981 the " Stars on 45 Medley " single also went to # 1 in the US where it was released by Radio Records, a sublabel of Atlantic Records.

It also reached # 14 in the UK where it was called " Stars Medley "-confusingly exactly the same title as the third album in the British Isles and Australasia.

They peaked at # 10 in the UK sales charts and # 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with " The Beatles Movie Medley ," highlighting their hits from the various motion pictures they appeared in throughout their popularity.

In 1981, The Beach Boys had their own minor hit with " The Beach Boys Medley ," peaking at # 12 on the U. S. Hot 100 chart.
