Jelly Roll Morton is considered the earliest jazz arranger, writing down the parts when he was touring about 1912-1915 so that pick-up bands could play his compositions.

He is credited by many with first popularizing this form of music in the early 1950s with his group Bill Haley & His Comets ( inspired by Halley's Comet ) and million selling hits such as, " Rock Around the Clock ", " See You Later Alligator ", and " Shake Rattle and Roll ".

In 2006, Bear Family Records of Germany released what is considered to be the most comprehensive ( yet still incomplete ) collection of Haley's 1946-1950 recordings as part of its Haley box set Rock n ' Roll Arrives.

Also the song " Real Nigga Roll Call " by Lil Jon & Ice Cube, is another song that may be used for this method.

In the U. S., such an Easter egg roll ( unrelated to an eggroll ) is often done on flat ground, pushed along with a spoon ; the Easter Egg Roll has become a much-loved annual event on the White House lawn.

Merrily We Roll Along ( 1981 ), with a book by George Furth, is one of Sondheim's more " traditional " scores and was thought to hold potential to generate some hit songs ( Frank Sinatra and Carly Simon each recorded a different song from the show ).

" The show is tentatively called All Together Now and is assumed to follow the format of Merrily We Roll Along.

At their first concert, They Might Be Giants performed under the name El Grupo De Rock and Roll, because the show was a Sandinista rally in Central Park, and all of the audience members spoke Spanish Soon discarding this title, the band assumed the name of a 1971 film They Might Be Giants ( starring George C. Scott and Joanne Woodward ), which is in turn taken from a Don Quixote passage about how Quixote mistook windmills for evil giants.
