* Route Nationale # 1 ( RN1 ) heads north, passing through St-Marc and Gonaïves to its terminus at Rue 22 in Cap-Haïtien.

* June 22 – Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld leaves Karlskrona on a voyage that will make him the first to navigate the Northern Sea Route, a shipping lane from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean along the Siberian coast.

* Widest highway ( maximum number of through lanes ): Interstate 5 along a 2-mile section between Interstate 805 and California State Route 56 in San Diego, California, which was completed in April 2007, is 22 lanes wide.

Major roads include Interstate 5, Oregon Route 99E, and Oregon Route 22 which connects West Salem across the Willamette River via the Marion Street and Center Street bridges.

U. S. Route 68 is the major north-south route through the county, while U. S. Route 22 runs east-west.

The Boston Post Road entered what is now Westchester County on Kingsbridge Road, and turned north on Third Avenue-Columbus Avenue ( Route 22 ), forking off onto Colonial Place.

To prevent the Americans from installing their own government a conference was held on June 6 – 8, 1969 off Route 22 in the Fishhook area.

Hopewell made national news when, on December 22, 1935, a bus plunged through the open draw of the Appomattox River Drawbridge on State Route 10 just outside Hopewell's city limits.

Near the east end of the county, at exit 8, U. S. Route 22 merges with I-78, running concurrently for the next.

At, Exit 3, a partial cloverleaf interchange brings together U. S. Route 22, New Jersey Route 122 and New Jersey Route 173 with Interstate 78 in Phillipsburg.

U. S. Route 22 now runs concurrently with I-78 for the next.

* Route Nationale # 3 ( RN3 ) begins where RN1 heads northwest from Bon Repos, not far north of the road network ’ s hub.

To exit Bolton, one heads north on Notch Road until reaching Route 44, just outside of Bolton Notch.

It stops, however, at Phoenixville, which then heads north towards Eastford on Route 198.

At the center of Pomfret, Route 244 headed east turns into U. S. Route 44, and heads northwest towards Putnam.

State Route 30 heads south from Garden City through Laketown and climbs east through the mountains to the Wyoming border.

State Route 16 heads south from Sage Creek Junction through Randolph and Woodruff before entering Wyoming northwest of Evanston.

State Route 39 heads west into the Wasatch Range from Woodruff on its way to Huntsville and eventually Ogden.

The south end of Route 128 is in Canton, where Interstate 95 heads south toward Providence, Rhode Island, just east of the Northeast Corridor's Route 128 Station.

From Canton, Route 128 and Interstate 95 heads northwest, north, northeast and east around the Boston area to Peabody, where I-95 splits to head north toward Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The highway heads northward, crossing under Route 138 as a four-lane freeway.

From its western terminus, Route 28 heads east through Raritan, intersecting County Route 567 and then U. S. Route 202 and U. S. Route 206 at the Somerville Circle before heading through the central part of Somerville.

At this intersection, Route 28 bears to the left and heads east on West Main Street, which proceeds through the business district of downtown Somerville.

Upon leaving the downtown area, the route turns north onto Gaston Avenue and heads into residential areas again, with County Route 612 continuing east on Main Street.

It intersects County Route 633 ( Finderne Avenue ) before crossing County Route 675 ( Chimney Rock Road ), where Route 28 widens into a four-lane divided highway that heads through industrial and commercial areas.

Here, Route 28 heads east through residential and commercial areas before turning northeast to closely parallel New Jersey Transit ’ s Raritan Valley Line ( which runs to the south of the route ) as North Avenue.

A short distance later, at the second intersection with Old South Avenue, the route becomes state-maintained again and continues past businesses, intersecting County Route 655 ( Martine Avenue ) before it heads into residential neighborhoods and meets County Route 601 ( Laurel Place ).

* Route Nationale # 5 ( RN5 ) breaks off from RN1 on the northeast edge of Gonaïves, heading north and then northwest through Gros Morne before terminating near the airport outside Port-de-Paix.

* Route Nationale # 7 ( RN7 ) commences from the aforementioned Avenue des Quatre Chemins in Les Cayes, going northwest across Haiti ’ s southern arm to the outskirts of Jérémie.

Japan National Route 4 runs to Tokyo in the south, through Fukushima, then north to Sendai and beyond ; Japan National Route 13 begins in Fukushima, runs through Yamagata Prefecture, then terminates in Akita Prefecture ; Japan National Route 114 starts in Fukushima and runs southeast to the town of Namie ; Japan National Route 115 runs through Fukushima, connecting Sōma in the east to Inwashiro in the west ; Japan National Route 399 starts southeast of Fukushima in the city of Iwaki, Fukushima, continues northwest through Fukushima, and terminates in the city of Nan ' yō, Yamagata ; and Japan National Route 459 begins in Niigata, Niigata, runs eastward through Kitakata, through Fukushima, southward to Nihonmatsu, then eastward to Namie.

* alt = State Route 16 enters the county from the northwestern county boundary northwest of Rumsey, California and continues through to Woodland, California interchanging with I-5.

Route 18 continues northwestward into Colts Neck The freeway continues to the northwest through wooded land for several miles, crossing over Normandy Road and to the south of the Pebble Creek Golf Club.

Past this interchange, Easton Turnpike continues to the northwest as County Route 614.

Route 34 northbound approaching the Garden State Parkway. Route 34 begins at an intersection with Route 35 and Route 70 in Wall Township, Monmouth County at the former Brielle Circle, heading to the northwest on a six-lane undivided road with a speed limit.

At the traffic circle, Route 34 turns northwest to form a concurrency with Route 33 on a four-lane divided highway with a speed limit of that passes businesses, crossing into Howell Township.

Route 34 northbound at the Allenwood Circle. Past this intersection, the road continues through areas of residences and farms before turning northwest into more residential surroundings and entering Marlboro Township.

The route continues northwest and crosses into Wall Township and meets Route 34 and Route 70 at the former Brielle Circle, now an at-grade intersection with jughandles.
