Dr. Beyster went on to found Science Applications International Corporation ( SAIC ), which by 2007 had more than 44, 000 employees and annual sales in excess of $ 8 billion.

Work on this project is conducted by SAIC through its former Hicks & Associates consulting arm run by former Defense and military officials and which had originally been awarded US $ 19 million IAO contract to build the prototype system in late 2002.

SAIC had also participated in the concept definition phase of Trailblazer, beginning March 2001.

SAIC executive vice president Arnold L. Punaro claimed that the company had " fully conformed to the contract we have and gave the taxpayers real value for their money.

Proposed links with foreign organisations including Malaysian carmaker Proton failed to materialise, and by late 2004 Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor had shown an interest in taking over the Longbridge-based firm-which was now hundreds of millions of pounds in debt.

Network Solutions was acquired by SAIC in 1995, and subsequently was acquired by VeriSign, Inc. for $ 21 billion.

In 1996, the company was provisionally acquired by Science Applications International Corporation ( SAIC ).

As of 2012 the Wolseley marque is owned by SAIC Motor, having been acquired by its subsidiary Nanjing Automobile following the break-up of the MG Rover Group.

For several years Touch Communications was located in Scotts Valley, eventually moving to Campbell and being acquired by SAIC.

In 1980, Volkswagen bought the Argentinian company Chrysler Ferve Argentina SAIC, inheriting some Dodge / Chrysler models and renaming the company Volkswagen Argentina SA.

SAIC did manage to obtain some MG Rover technology that was incorporated into a new line of luxury sedans under the Roewe marque, and it subsequently purchased the winning bidder.

SAIC may have benefitted from exposure to some technology from Mercedes that Ssangyong controlled during this time.

After MG Rover Group's financial crisis and talks of acquisition or investment by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation ( SAIC ) failed in early 2005, the MG Rover Group went into receivership.
