Autopsy's 1989 debut, Severed Survival, would feature bassist Steve DiGiorgio, founder of Antioch, California thrash metal band Sadus ; Schuldiner had also met DiGiorgio while living in the Bay Area, who would play bass for Death on the albums Human and Individual Thought Patterns.

The rhythm section on The Gathering was highly respected, consisting of metal fretless bass pioneer Steve DiGiorgio ( formerly of Death and Sadus ) and original Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.

In regards to heavy metal and image, Sadus co-founder Steve DiGiorgio explained:

DiGiorgio has played bass guitar in heavy metal bands such as Death, Autopsy, Control Denied, Testament, Vintersorg, Iced Earth, Sebastian Bach, Charred Walls of the Damned, Obituary, and is a founding member of Sadus.

By 2003 Chuck Billy had completely recovered, and the band began performing live again with a new drummer, Jon Allen of Sadus.

Vision of Misery is the third full-length album by the thrash metal band Sadus, released in 1992.

The classic Vio-Lence line-up ( minus Machine Head's Robb Flynn ), Death Angel, Heathen, Forbidden ( going under their original name, Forbidden Evil ), Anthrax, Sadus, Stormtroopers of Death and Exodus were among the performers.

Sadus is an American thrash metal trio from Antioch, California.

They were influenced by classic thrash metal bands like Dark Angel, Kreator and Sadus.

The reunited band featured an expanded lineup: Steve Hansgen joined as the band's bassist and Baker switched to second guitar.
