* Australian classical guitar band Saffire perform an equally fast but acoustic cover of Highway Star on their 2004 CD Nostalgica.

The festival attracts many Australian guitarists including Karin Schaupp, Saffire, and Slava Grigoryan.

In December 2007 the group acquired The Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart, and have recently opened the opulent Saffire Freycinet Sanctuary in mid 2010.

In 2006, Saffire published their third album, Renaissance, the first to feature Leonard Grigoryan ( brother of founding member Slava Grigoryan ), replacing Antony Field who retired from the ensemble.

In 1986 Rose Bygrave toured briefly playing Reggae with Australian Diva Wendy Saddington with Mick ' Python Lee ' Liber on Guitar, Angelica Booth on Bass, Javier Fredis on Congas and Dezzy McKenna on Drums.

These events were promoted to highlight Australian Country Music and to draw attention to the climax of the 10 days, the Golden Guitar Awards.
