Demand for his music convinced Dumars to print the first of Scott's published compositions, " A Summer Breeze ", in 1903.

Scott's four songs – " Nite Flights ", " The Electrician ", " Shut Out ", and " Fat Mama Kick " – were his first original compositions since ' Til the Band Comes In ( released in 1970 ).

He is a member of the Raymond Scott Orchestrette, a group dedicated to reinterpreting Scott's compositions, and appeared on their 2002 album Pushbutton Parfait.

Very loosely based on the events of 1575, Scott's story reinvented aspects of the castle and its history to tell the story of " the pathetic, beautiful, undisciplined heroine Amy Robsart and the steely Elizabeth I ".
