Thus, the Sheikh of al-Azhar in Cairo, Muhammad Sayid Tantawy, who is the leading religious authority in the Sunni Muslim establishment in Egypt, alongside the Grand Mufti of Egypt, said the following about fatwās issued by himself or the entire Dar al-Ifta:

On 2 December 1971, Sheikh Khalid III bin Muhammad Al Qasimi ( Sheikh Khalid III ) joined Sharjah to the United Arab Emirates.

Although the Egyptian monarchy was abolished in 1953, the title continues to be used by Muhammad Ali, Prince of Said and Hereditary Chief, Sheikh Beja Khawr al ` allaqi, Prince of Sa ' id.

He studied first under Sheikh al-Amin al-Suwaylih in the Gezira region around Khartoum, and subsequently under Sheikh Muhammad al-Dikayr ' Abdallah Khujali near the town of Berber in North Sudan.

Determined to live a life of asceticism, mysticism and worship, in 1861 he sought out Sheikh Muhammad Sharif Nur al-Dai'm, the grandson of the founder of the Samaniyya Sufi sect in Sudan.

Muhammad Ahmad stayed with Sheikh Muhammad Sharif for seven years, during which time he was recognized for his piety and asceticism.

In 1872, Muhammad Ahmad invited Sheikh Sharif to move to al-Aradayb, an area on the White Nile neighboring Aba Island.

At a subsequent celebration in honor of the circumcision of Sheikh Sharif's sons, Muhammad Ahmad expressed his disapproval of the dancing and music, which reignited the latent tension between the two men.

After recognizing that the split with Sheikh Sharif was irreconcilable, Muhammad Ahmad approached a rival leader of the Samaniyya order named Sheikh al-Qurashi wad al-Zayn.

On 25 July 1878, Sheikh al-Qurashi died and his followers recognized Muhammad Ahmad as their new leader.

There he gained a large number of recruits, especially from the Baqqara, and notable leaders such as Sheikh Madibbo ibn Ali of Rizeigat and Abdallahi ibn Muhammad of Ta ' aisha tribes.

Sheikh Nefzawi, full name Abu Abdullah Muhammad ben Umar Nafzawi, was born among the Berber Nefzawa tribe in the south of present-day Tunisia.

The school produced theologians such as Sheikh Kamal al-Din Ibn Sa ’ adah al Bahrani ( d. 1242 ), Sheikh Jamal al-Din ‘ Ali ibn Sulayman al-Bahrani ( d. 1271 ), and perhaps most famously Sheikh Maitham Al Bahrani ( d. 1280 ).

In 2010, another visiting academic, South African Dr. Sa ' diyya Sheikh, gave the khutbah and led the Friday prayer for a mixed congregation.

Abū al-Hasan Alī ibn Ismā ' īl al-Ash ' arī ( 874 – 936 ) () was a Muslim Arab theologian and an early follower of the Mu ' tazila school before studying under Abdullah ibn Sa ' eed ibn Kullaab whom he was a follower of as according to Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah.

During this era of his life it is suggested that al-Ashari was proponent of his teacher Abdullah ibn Sa ' eed ibn Kullaab's views in theology ( formulated in the early Kullaabi / Ash ' ari school ) whom he was a follower of as according to Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah in his Majmoo ' ul-Fataawaa.

His power displeased Öljeitü's successor Abu Sa ' id, who ordered Sharaf al-Din removed and sent a Sheikh Hussein ibn Juban to replace him.

In sequence, the attacks took place at the Battle of Sheikh Sa ' ad, the Battle of the Wadi, the Battle of Hanna, and the Battle of Dujaila Redoubt.

Educated in the United States, as a student Sheikh Khaled was a member of US President Jimmy Carter ’ s 1980 presidential campaign team.

As a result of this second dispute, Sheikh Sharif expelled his former student from the Samaniyya order, and despite numerous apologies and emotional appeals, refused to forgive and re-admit him.

Prominent student leaders including Shamsul Huq, Shawkat Ali, Kazi Golam Mahboob, Oli Ahad, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Abdul Wahed were arrested and the police were accused of excessive brutality while charging protesters.

After his death, his student, Sheikh Ahmad primarily took over.

Sheikh Hasina's political career started as a student activist in Dhaka Government Intermediate College in the 1960s.

Sheikh Mujib himself was facing immense pressure from most prominent political quarters, especially the ultra-nationalist young student leaders, to declare independence without delay.

Ahmad was one of the closest associates of the young and charismatic politician Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, since his earliest days as a student leader.

Sheikh Abd al Rahman was a student of Sheikh Muhammad al-Hashimi al-Tilmisani.

He was also a student of the spiritual guide and Shadhili Sheikh Abdur Rahman Abu al Risah of Halab in the land of Syria of the Shadhili Yashruti line.

Sheikh Ibrahim ’ s student, Sheikh Abdullah Nooruddeen Durkee has established the Shadhdhuliyyah-Baddawia order in the US.
