The fourth album, Playin ' Favorites was a top-40 hit in the UK in 1973 and included the Irish folk classic, " Mountains of Mourne " and Buddy Holly ’ s " Everyday ", a live rendition of which returned McLean to the UK Singles Chart.

Singles from the album included " Hold on Tight ", " Twilight ", " The Way Life's Meant to Be ", " Here Is the News " and " Ticket to the Moon ".

Singles from the album included " Crystal ", " 60 Miles an Hour ", and " Someone Like You ".

In addition to the original albums, two compilation albums have been released: Double Hipness ( 2000 ), a collection of early tracks with the 1993 reunion demos ; and Singles ( 2004 ), an extended version of Popera-The Singles Collection which caught up with post-1990 material and included the cover of Bowie's " Boys Keep Swinging ".

Singles from the album included " The Statue Got Me High ", " I Palindrome I " and " The Guitar ( The Lion Sleeps Tonight )".

In 2002 they were invited to work in the studio with The Chemical Brothers, they produce together the single called The Golden Path, included in Chemical Brothers compilation album Singles 93-03.

It included, " The Dark is Rising ," which reached No. 16 in the UK Singles Chart.

Singles included " Digging the Grave ", " Evidence ", and " Ricochet ".

Singles from the album included " Protect Ya Neck " and " C. R. E. A. M.

Singles spawned from this album included " In The Stone ", " Can't Let Go ", and the sad David Foster-written ballad " After the Love Has Gone ", which rose to the number 2 spot on the Billboard Pop and R & B charts and won a Grammy for the Best R & B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group at the Grammy Awards of 1980.

Singles included " He's the Greatest Dancer " (# 9 US, # 1 R & B ) and " We Are Family " (# 2 US, # 1 R & B ), the latter song becoming their biggest hit.

Additionally, a special 2-CD 2-DVD box set titled Boom Box was made available, which included the CDs The Singles 1992 – 2003 and Everything in Time and the DVDs The Videos 1992 – 2003 and Live in the Tragic Kingdom.

Sloan's first compilation album A Sides Win: Singles 1992-2005, included two new songs, " All Used Up " and " Try to Make It ".

The compilation included a new track, the power ballad " When Love & Hate Collide ", which became their biggest ever hit in the UK, hitting No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

Hotcakes included two top ten singles, " Mockingbird ", a duet with James Taylor that peaked at # 5 on Billboard's Pop Singles chart, and " Haven't Got Time For the Pain ", which hit # 2 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart.

OK ", which were also included as tracks on the Need for Speed: Underground and SSX 3 soundtracks, and peaked at # 35 on the UK Singles Chart.

" Singles from the album included "( If There Was ) Any Other Way ", " The Last to Know ", " Unison ", and " Where Does My Heart Beat Now ", a mid-tempo soft-rock ballad which made prominent use of the electric guitar.

Polydor issued a " best of " compilation in 1983 ; Fade to Grey-The Singles Collection which included all of the singles released to date and the previously unreleased " In The Year 2525 ".

Other singles from Doubt included " Real, Real, Real " and " International Bright Young Thing ", which became two of their biggest hit singles in the UK, reaching No. 19 and No. 7 respectively in the UK Singles Chart.

That album made the top 10 in Canada, but was not as successful in the U. S. Singles included " Love Changes Everything ," " Looking Out for Number One ," " Cold Look " ( Europe only ), and " It's Over Now.

In 1989, the band released their first greatest hits compilation, The Singles, which included two new charting singles in Canada: " Still Loving You " and " Long Way ," both written by Grehan.

" In Our Lifetime " peaked at No. 4 on the UK Singles Charts and was also was included on the Notting Hill film soundtrack that year.

Singles included “ Come On Get Higher " ( peaked at # 2 at Triple A, # 9 at Hot AC, # 3 at Mainstream AC and # 19 at Pop ), “ Car Crash ” ( peaked at # 12 at Triple A, and # 29 at Hot AC ), “ Falling Apart ( peaked # 29 at Hot AC ), and “ All We Are ” ( peaked at # 26 at Triple A ).

Other notable covers include those by pop / rock duo They Might Be Giants on their 2001 Mink Car album, and Matt Bianco, who covered the song in 1985, reaching number 13 in the UK Singles Chart ( the single version was then included in their second eponymous album in 1986, while the respective CD edition of the album only contained its 12 " Dance Mix-both versions featured on the MC edition of the long playing work, depending upon the various countries ).

Singles " Dreamer " and " Autumn Leaves " ( 1994 ) were both minor hits but the album did not chart.

In an interview conducted by Jan & Dean fan and historian David Beard for the Collectors ' Choice release, Jan & Dean The Complete Liberty Singles, Dean Torrence stated that he felt the duo should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: " We have the scoreboard if you just want to compare number of hits and musical projects done.

Jamiroquai released a greatest hits collection, High Times: Singles 1992-2006 in November 2006.

In the autumn of 2005, the group released another greatest hits compilation, in the form of Singles.

They released no new material during this time, although Virgin did issue two compilations-the US-only greatest hits collection Upsy Daisy Assortment, and the 2-CD set ' Best Of ' collection Fossil Fuel: The XTC Singles 1977-1992, which featured remastered versions of their singles, including many tracks not previously issued on CD.

Eliminator, released in March 1983, featured two Top 40 singles (" Gimme All Your Lovin '" and " Legs "), four Mainstream Rock hits ( including " Got Me Under Pressure " and " Sharp Dressed Man "), and " Legs " peaking at No. 13 on the Club Play Singles chart.

All four albums released with Fish were commercial successes, and the band released eleven Top 40 hits on the UK Singles Chart, including 1985's " Kayleigh ", which reached No. 2 and became their biggest hit single.

Brandy went on to sell over six million units worldwide, and produced three top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including " I Wanna Be Down " and " Baby ," both of which reached the top of the Hot R & B Singles chart and were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Crackers International was bettered in 1992 by another EP, Abba-esque, covering four ABBA hits, which became Erasure's first ( and to date only ) number one in the UK Singles Chart.

After the release of their greatest-hits album, Blessid Union of Souls: The Singles, which actually collected more outtakes and B-sides than previous hits, they released Perception.

Singles such as " Run Come ", " Not for Sale ", " African Girl ", " Lovers Rock ", " In a Dis Ya Time ", " Africa " and " Make It with You " ( with Carroll Thompson ) were hits in the years that followed.

With 17 consecutive Top 20 hits and six number ones, the British Hit Singles & Albums names them as the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles.

She has also achieved nine Top 30 singles and five Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart .< ref >

The Scaffold's first greatest hits album, entitled Singles As & Bs, was released on See For Miles Records in 1982.

The single was one of the biggest hits of 1983, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for eight weeks and the UK Singles Chart for four weeks.

Its first two singles " Don't Take It Personal " and " Before You Walk out of My Life " made her the youngest recording act to ever have two consecutive chart-topping hits on the US Billboard Top R & B Singles chart.

It was certified triple platinum by the RIAA for more than three million store-shipped copies and produced three top ten singles, including debut single " Don't Take It Personal ( Just One of Dem Days )" and " Before You Walk out of My Life ", both of which made Monica the youngest artist ever to have two consecutive chart-topping hits on the U. S. Billboard Hot R & B Singles chart.

Several house tracks became # 1 hits on the UK Singles Chart, starting with Chicago musician Steve " Silk " Hurley's " Jack Your Body " ( 1987 ).

On November 13, 2007, the Goo Goo Dolls released a greatest hits album entitled Greatest Hits Volume One: The Singles, which includes a new version of " Name " recorded and mixed by Paul David Hager, and a remix of " Feel the Silence " by Michael Brauer.

They failed to have any Top 40 hits in the UK however, and are therefore unmentioned in the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles.

Shakatak scored a number of chart entries, including two Top Ten hits in the UK Singles Chart, " Night Birds " ( 1982 ) and " Down on the Street " ( 1984 ), plus a further 12 entries in the Guinness book of British Hit Singles.

They have also achieved seventeen Top 30 singles, and four Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart.

Upon his return to London in 1980, his publisher introduced him to Andy Hill, a composer and fellow songwriter who Sinfield worked with to create hits such as " The Land of Make Believe " by Bucks Fizz, which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart, and became one of the biggest-selling hits of the decade.
