Singles " Dreamer " and " Autumn Leaves " ( 1994 ) were both minor hits but the album did not chart.

Four years after Shepherd Moons she released The Memory of Trees ( 1995 ), another Top Five success in both the UK and Germany, as well as her first Top 10 album in the U. S. Singles released from the album were " Anywhere Is " and " On My Way Home ".

Included amongst the remastered album tracks were unreleased songs and out-takes, including 2 new singles " Surrender " which registered on the lower end of the UK Singles Chart at number 81, some 30 years after it was written in 1976.

Internationally the song was phenomenally successful, spending many weeks at the top position in various countries, including 17 weeks on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles, 15 weeks in Switzerland, 13 weeks in France and Germany, 11 weeks in the Netherlands and Sweden, ten weeks in Belgium Wallonia, Denmark, Italy, and Norway, seven weeks in Belgium Flanders, six weeks in Ireland, four weeks in Australia and Austria, two weeks in Spain and the United Kingdom, and one week in Finland.

Since the inception of the UK Singles Chart in 1952 there have been various records to break, including most chart toppers, longest run at number one, biggest selling single etc.

Paffendorf is best known for their year 2000 hit, " Where are You ", although they have had various successful hits across Europe, their best known in the UK being " Be Cool ," which peaked at number 7 in the UK Singles Chart in June, 2002.

They also had one Top 20 and various other Top 50 hits in the United Kingdom, including " Is It a Dream ", which reached No. 11 in the UK Singles Chart.
