In 2005, the Jungle Brothers released a greatest hits and classic remixes and rarities double album, This Is ..., which included remixes by The Wiseguys, Urban Takeover, Natural Born Chillers and Stereo MCs.

DJs that have performed at ZoukOut include Paul Van Dyk, 2ManyDJS, Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Peter Kruder, James Lavelle, Armin Van Buuren and Stereo MCs.

The alternative band Happy Mondays, supported by The Farm, Stereo MCs, and The La's, played a gig at the stadium on 1 June 1991, which was later released as a live album.

Kela released an Ep in Europe entitled " For Those Who've Joined us " featuring Stereo MCs, Artful Dodger, Dj Vadim and more.

The Beatnuts entered the recording industry in 1990 producing two tracks for the electronica group Stereo MCs as well as a song for British rapper Monie Love.

Nottingham was the birthplace of the Stereo MCs, whilst Leeds spawned Braintax and Breaking the Illusion ( who together founded Low Life Records ) as well as Nightmares on Wax.

Increasingly, these artists managed to avoid the issues surrounding sampling by making music themselves ( bands such as the Stereo MCs began playing instruments and sampling their own tunes ) or searching out more obscure records where a most cost effective licensing deal could be arranged.

When Gee Street attracted the attention of 4th & Broadway, they recorded the debut Stereo MCs ' album 33-45-78 ( 1989 ) on a shoestring budget with DJ Cesare, drummer Owen If and backing vocalist and Cath Coffey.

Further remix duties for Madonna (" Frozen "), and the Jungle Brothers (" Jungle Brother ") in 1998, kept the Stereo MCs name in the limelight.

The Apples in Stereo, styled The Apples in stereo, are an American indie rock band associated with The Elephant Six Collective, a group of bands also including Neutral Milk Hotel and The Olivia Tremor Control.

Bands such as Soda Stereo or Sumo, and composers like Charly García, Luis Alberto Spinetta, and Fito Páez are referents of national culture.

Stereo, or more generally multi-channel, audio is encoded using a number of schemes which ( except in the French systems ) are independent of the video system.
