Troop core skills consist of: Sniper, Breacher, Communicator, Maritime / Engineering, Close Air Support, Corpsman, Point-man / Navigator, Primary Driver / Navigator ( Rural / Urban / Protective Security ), Heavy Weapons Operator, Sensitive Site Exploitation, Air Operations Master, Lead Climber, Lead Diver / Navigator, Interrogator, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Technical Surveillance, and Advanced Special Operations.

When the Brigade is operating as the United Kingdom / Netherlands Landing Force the Operational Control of one Marine Infantry Battalion, a Mortar Company, 7th SBS Troop ( NL ) and a Combat Service Support element of the Korps Mariniers are delegated to the formation.

Natick Laboratories became a subordinate element to the Troop Support Command in July 1973 and was redesignated two years later as the U. S. Army Natick Development Center and reassigned to the AMC.

In September 1980, the NRDC was redesignated as the U. S. Army Natick Research & Development Laboratories and three years later as the U. S. Army Natick Research and Development Center, a subordinate element of the U. S. Army Troop Support Command in St. Louis, Missouri.

Other units included the 1st APC Squadron equipped with M113 armoured personnel carriers, the 1st Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery consisting of two Australian and one New Zealand battery each equipped with 105 mm L5 Pack Howitzers, the 3rd SAS Squadron, the 1st Field Squadron and 21st Engineer Support Troop, the 161st Reconnaissance Flight operating Cessna 180s and Bell H-13 Sioux light observation helicopters, and a detachment of the 1st Division Intelligence Unit.

Whilst the majority of the Regiment were on OP TELIC a large Troop was deployed on OP HERRICK 9 where they worked with the Royal Marines as part of the Armoured Support Group in Viking armoured personnel carriers.

:* 1 July 1977: AVSCOM discontinued and its readiness mission combined with that of the U. S. Army Troop Support Command ( TROSCOM ) to form the U. S. Army Troop Support and Aviation Materiel Readiness Command ( TSARCOM ).

:* 1 March 1984: AVSCOM reestablished and all missions and activities of AVRADCOM and the aviation related missions and activities of the Troop Support and Aviation Materiel Readiness Command transferred to AVSCOM.

By the mid-1970s, each of the services ran its own commissary agency, with differing procedures and systems: the Army Troop Support Agency ( TSA ), the Navy Resale System Support Office ( NAVRESSO ), the Commissary Section of the Marine Corps Services Command, and the Air Force Commissary Service ( AFCOMS ).

It provided crews for 415 Maritime Troop based on Stonecutters ' Island, dog handlers in the Defence Animal Support Unit ( DASU ) of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps ( RAVC ) based in Sek Kong, officer instructors in the Royal Army Educational Corps ( RAEC ), officers and clerks in the Royal Army Pay Corps ( RAPC ), technicians in the Royal Signals ( R Sigs ) of the Queen's Gurkha Signals ( QGS ) and engineers and armourers in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers ( REME ).

Units assigned to the 91st Combat Support Group were the 91st Civil Engineering Squadron, the 91st Security Police Squadron, 91st Communications Squadron, 91st Supply Squadron and 91st Transportation Squadron, The USAF Hospital, MINOT.
