: Redesignated: 475th Tactical Fighter Wing *, January 15, 1968 – March 15, 1971

It was replaced by the 475th Fighter Wing which brought with it the new F-82 Twin Mustangs, replacing the wartime Black Widows for air defense missions.

It was built by the famous 475th Fighter Group to store their memorabilia, as well as house the Museum ’ s rare Lockheed P-38 Lightning.

This new museum, legally known as The 475th Fighter Group Historical Foundation, Inc., was housed in a modern steel building reminiscent of those used by the Armed Forces during World War II.

Five months later, the 5th Air Force decided to create an entire group, the 475th Fighter Group, of P-38 fighters, at the behest of its commander, the legendary Lt Gen George Kenney.

The Group is ranked as the 475th largest company by Fortune 500 Global, is the 11th largest defence contractor in the world and 60 % of its total sales are military sales.

A new pavilion has been built as part of the 475th Anniversary expansion of the school, replacing the old pavilion.

The 31st Air Division was inactivated on January 15, 1968, and was replaced at Misawa by the 475th Air Base Wing.

The 6112th ABG took over the base host duties at Misawa in 1971, with the inactivation of the 475th ABW.

On 10 August 1944 the Marauders were consolidated into the 475th Infantry.

On 21 June 1954 the 475th Infantry was re-designated as the 75th Infantry ; thus Merrill's Marauders is the parent of the 75th Infantry Regiment, from which descended the 75th Ranger Regiment.

In 1971, all combat squadrons were transferred to Kadena and Misawa Air Base and Yokota became a non-flying station hosted by the 475th Air Base Wing.

The 475th had no numbered flying squadrons, but operated a few T-39 Saberliners and UH-1 helicopters, along with supporting transient MAC cargo and passenger aircraft.

The most recent English version of the Book of Concord was published in 2005 to commemorate the 425th anniversary of the publication of the Book of Concord, and the 475th anniversary of the presentation of The Augsburg Confession. It is a revision of the English text of the Concordia Triglotta and entitled Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions — A Reader ’ s Edition of the Book of Concord and edited by Paul T. McCain, Edward A. Engelbrecht, Robert C. Baker, and Gene E. Veith.

Over the past nineteen years, many people have donated time, skills and memorabilia in order to preserve the history and proud heritage of the many valiant men of the 475th and these efforts have culminated in a building.

In September 2006, the newspaper announced it was ceasing publication, with the 475th and last issue published on 7 September.

In Viborg at the place of the now demolished church of the Franciscan monastery a modern monument in memory of Hans Tausen was put up in 2004, the 475th year of the reformation of the town of Viborg.

In 2006 the 475th anniversary of this Latin school was celebrated with several events.

During the Western Allied invasion of Germany in April 1945, the airfield was seized by the United States Third Army, and used by the USAAF 354th Fighter Group which flew P-47 Thunderbolts from the aerodrome ( designated ALG R-82 ) from late April until the German capitulation on 7 May 1945.

On July 17, 1944, napalm incendiary bombs were dropped for the first time by 14 American P-38 Lightning aircraft of the 402d Fighter Squadron / 370th Fighter Group on a fuel depot at Coutances, near St. Lô, France.

* May 7 – Spanish Civil War: The German Condor Legion Fighter Group, equipped with Heinkel He 51 biplanes, arrives in Spain to assist Francisco Franco's forces.

The unit was the GC3 ( Groupe de Chasse 3 or 3rd Fighter Group ) in the Free French Air Force, first commanded by Jean Tulasne.

The 355th Fighter Wing was composed of the 355th Operations Group ( 355 OG ), the 355th Maintenance Group ( 355 MG ), the 355th Medical Group ( 355 MDG ), and the 355th Mission Support Group ( 355 MSG ).

During 1940, Douglas and Trafford Leigh-Mallory clashed with the head of No. 11 Group, Keith Park, and the head of Fighter Command, Hugh Dowding, over strategy in the Battle of Britain.

The station was built within the grounds of Hillingdon House, a 19th century mansion bought by the British Government in 1915, and became most famous for being the home of RAF Fighter Command's No. 11 Group Operations Room during the Battle of Britain.

Barclay H. Dillon, test pilot of the Fighter Section of the 1st Proving Ground Group, killed 2 October 1943 when P-38J-5-LO Lightning, 42-67103, crashed W of Milton, Florida.

The first TAC unit to be assigned was the 1st Fighter Group, under the command of Col. Frank S. Perego, being reactivated at March on 3 July 1946, replacing and absorbing the assets of the wartime 412th Fighter Group.

Few members of the 1st Fighter Group foresaw subsequent difficulties in the summer of 1946 as they trained with their new jet fighters.

He was also made an honorary member of the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, RCAF Snowbirds, American Fighter Aces Association, Original Eagle squadron and received an Award of Merit from the American Fighter Pilots Association.

The White Falcon is the Spectrum ATF or Advanced Tactical Fighter, piloted by the Angels.

Fighter command, it has all first-line combat assets under its control-fighter, attack and reconnaissance aircraft ; V FAE ( V Força Aérea )-responsible for transport missions.

Despite the critically acclaimed Virtua Fighter 5 releasing to very little fanfare in 2007, its update Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown has received much more attention in 2012 due to the renewed interest in fighting games.

The AIDC, the ROC's air defense company, has nicknamed its AIDC F-CK Indigenous Defense Fighter the Ching Kuo in his memory.

Yu Suzuki has stated on several occasions that during its early stages, Shenmue was a traditional style role-playing video game based on the characters and storyline of the hugely successful fighting game title Virtua Fighter.

She has also starred in movies such as Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy.

El Mirage is near Luke U. S. Air Force Base, the largest Fighter Pilot Training Base in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO ), and can boast that it has the highest paid city manager per capita in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area

The Oregon Air National Guard has a base located on the southwest portion of the grounds, the host unit of which is the 142d Fighter Wing ( 142 FW ) flying the F-15 Eagle.

After a very successful run on Spike and with the upcoming announcement of the UFC's new relationship with Fox, Spike officials made a statement regarding the end of their partnership with the UFC, “ The Ultimate Fighter season 14 in September will be our last ... Our 6-year partnership with the UFC has been incredibly beneficial in building both our brands, and we wish them all the best in the future .”

With the announcement of UFC's partnership with Fox in August 2011, The Ultimate Fighter which entered its 14th season in that September, has moved to the FX network and air on Friday nights starting with season 15 in the Spring of 2012.

Scobee's son graduated from the US Air Force Academy, has flown F-16s for the USAF, and has commanded the 944th Fighter Wing, the 301st Fighter Wing, and is now the deputy director of operations for NORAD.

Each game has its particular set of classes with typical options including: the Cleric, Fighter, Jester, Thief, Warrior, and Mage.
